Ever since the McMahon family took full control of both the Raw and SmackDown rosters, things have been changing quickly in WWE. However, the viewership rating for the last two weeks tells us a different story.

While the ratings touched a new low for the Christmas Eve episode of Raw, the last episode though saw a subtle growth, but was also under 2 million viewers.

Given the low ratings, it is not an ideal start to this new revolution in WWE. And so creative would be under a lot of pressure to deliver on the upcoming episode of Raw.

WWE has in fact announced a double main event involving Rollins versus Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship, and John Cena featuring in a six-man tag team match with Elias and Finn Balor against Lashley, McIntyre, and Corbin.

Brock Lesnar, Strowman, Rousey, Hulk Hogan, and Alexa Bliss' new talk show, 'Moment of Bliss', have also been advertised by the WWE.

With some high profile names and segments being advertised for the show, it would not be wrong to say WWE wants to start the new year on a high.

So, lets take a look at 3 interesting things which could happen on the upcoming episode of Raw.

#3 Brock Lesnar and Strowman come face to face, and all hell breaks loose

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to defend his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman at Royal Rumble, but there is not much of a hype surrounding the match. However, this may change in the upcoming week on Raw.

Both Brock Lesnar and Strowman are being advertised for the upcoming episode of Raw, and creative could have them face-off, leading to a small brawl during a segment on the show.

This could lead to the whole roster coming out to separate the duo. Given Strowman is not fully recovered yet, a small brawl, with both trading shots at each other, could be on the cards.

#2 Heavy Machinery debuts on the Raw roster

The Revival are set to clash with Bobby Roode and Chad Gable for the Raw tag team titles in a lumberjack match on the upcoming episode of Raw.

Given the added stipulation, expect the bout to turn chaotic sooner than later. However, this might lead to the Heavy Machinery making their main roster debut and dominate both The Revival and tag champs to stamp their authority.

With Royal Rumble just around the corner, this could lead to a potential triple threat match between the three teams for the Raw tag team titles.

Heavy Machinery are part of the NXT Superstars expected to make their main roster debut anytime soon, and we might see the duo of Otiz Dozovic and Tucker Knight featuring on the main roster as soon as next week.

#1 WWE teases John Cena's opponent for Royal Rumble

The Leader of Cenation, John Cena, will be back in action on the upcoming episode of Raw to feature in a six-man tag team match with Finn Balor and Elias against Lashley, McIntyre, and Baron Corbin.

On another note, we are inching closer and closer to Royal Rumble with each passing day, however, WWE has not yet revealed John Cena's opponent for Royal Rumble. That could very well change next week.

If WWE decides to go an 'old Cena putting over talents' route, then we might even see another NXT talent debuting on Raw next week to attack Cena. However, there is a slight possibility that we might even see a Lashley vs Cena at Royal Rumble.

With just 3 weeks left to Royal Rumble, the upcoming week may reveal Mr Hustle Loyalty and Respect's opponent.
