3 Matches you shouldn't miss at Stomping Grounds

Stomping Grounds 2019
Stomping Grounds 2019

Stomping Grounds is just one day away and the stakes are high for the event. The company raised the expectations after action-packed episodes of RAW and SmackDown Live this week. Stopping Grounds will be held at Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.

The match card is looking stupendous as several titles of RAW and SmackDown Live will be on the line. However, the Intercontinental Title, the RAW Tag Team Titles and the Women's Tag Team Titles will not be defended on Sunday.

The Universal Champion Seth Rollins will collide with Baron Corbin, while the WWE Title will be on the line when Kofi Kingston will face Dolph Ziggler in a Steel Cage match. The US Champion Samoa Joe will tussle with Ricochet. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan will put the twin belts on the line against Heavy Machinery.

Lacey Evans and Becky Lynch will have a rematch for the RAW Women's Title, whereas, Bayley will defend the most coveted women's prize of the blue brand against Alexa Bliss. Big E and Xavier Woods will fight Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Tag Team match. Roman Reigns will take on Drew McIntyre in a WrestleMania rematch.

Here we discuss three matches that could steal the show at Stomping Grounds.

#3 Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre

It should be money
It should be money

The fans will be eagerly waiting for the match between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre at Stomping Grounds. The two men already faced each other at WrestleMania where the Big Dog defeated the Scottish Psychopath. Considering Reigns is the top face of the company and McIntyre is a gigantic heel, it should be a colossal battle at Tacoma Dome.

The former Universal Champion suffered a shocking loss at Super ShowDown, where Shane McMahon pinned Reigns. It was the first defeat of Reigns this year, however, McIntyre assisted Shane to bear The Big Dog. A Claymore Kick from McIntyre knocked out Reigns as Shane took advantage of the situation.

Before walking in the Tacoma Dome, Reigns will be cautious about the interference of Shane. While Reigns will be aiming to get back on track after a humiliating defeat in Saudi Arabia, McIntyre will be laser focused to avenge his previous loss. Considering the proficiency of the two men, their WrestleMania match was substandard, hence, they are expected to tear the house down on Sunday.

#2 Samoa Joe vs Ricochet (US Championship)

A Fatal-5 Way match was held on RAW this week to decide the number one contender of US Champion Samoa Joe. Apart from Ricochet, Superstars like Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, Cesaro and The Miz were part of the match. Ricochet certainly entered the match as a dark horse but he earned the right to face Samoa Joe at Stomping Grounds.

It is the first proper opportunity for the former NXT North American Champion on the main roster. Joe, on the other hand, lost the title at Money in the Bank but he regained it after Rey Mysterio got injured. The champion didn't toil hard to reclaim the belt but he certainly has a tough challenge to face at Stomping Grounds.

It is no secret that Ricochet is an exceptional performer and he is one of the best high flyers of Vince McMahon's company. Joe is also extremely swift in the ring as he has a history of delivering awe-inspiring bouts. Considering two remarkable in-ring performers are set to face each other the first time in the squared circle, the match is going to be nothing short of spectacular.

#1 Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston (WWE Championship)

Will Ziggler become the WWE Champion?
Will Ziggler become the WWE Champion?

Kofi Kingston, who is the WWE Champion, will defend the title on Sunday. After facing Kingston at Super ShowDown, Dolph Ziggler will face him at Stomping Grounds in a rematch. The exciting part of the bout is that the two men will lock horns in a Steel Cage match. Since Ziggler returned to WWE, the feud has been entertaining.

Besides delivering impressive promos every week, the two men are dexterous in the squared circle, as a result, their Super ShowDown match stood out from the rest. Kingston has been a fighting champion and he defended the title multiple times after winning it at Showcase of Immortals.

In my humble opinion, it could turn out to be the longest match of Stomping Grounds. Considering the match will be inside the Steel cage, we could see some jaw-dropping manoeuvres during the match. Moreover, the cage will prevent interference as Xavier Woods assisted Kingston to pin Ziggler in Saudi Arabia. Kingston has not been pinned after winning the most coveted prize of the blue brand and he is expected to retain the title.
