Roman Reigns' shocking departure weeks ago from WWE has not only broken a lot of hearts, but has also left WWE reeling, given he was the top babyface of the company.

Barring the likes of Braun Strowman and the current Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins, there are not many legit draws on WWE's flagship show, Monday Night Raw.

On the other brand, with a few big names like AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio featuring on the roster, the SmackDown brand looks a little ahead on star power, but arguably it lacks a legit draw with whom the fans could connect.

However, both brands feature a plethora of talent in the mid-card. And quite recently, with the departure of the poster boy of WWE, Roman Reigns, and the viewership as well as live attendance dwindling week after week, creative have started building up a few mid-card superstars for a push.

So without further ado, lets look at 3 mid card superstars WWE is secretly building up for a push.

As usual, have your say in the comments section and don't forget to follow if you had a good read.

#3 Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews received a huge singles push upon his debut on the WWE main roster. However, after an underwhelming stint, WWE partnered him in the Titus Worldwide tag team with Titus O'Neil. But recently after dissolving Titus Worldwide, WWE Creative have started building up Apollo for a singles push.

Apollo Crews is a high-flying, agile, and talented superstar who has a plethora of move-sets in his armoury. He has the reputation of spellbinding the audience with his crazy moves and skills inside the ring.

On top all that, his infectious theme music was crazy over among fans, especially children back on the NXT roster. Thus he has the capability to connect to a larger audience, and could prove to be a legit draw if booked right.

With Apollo beating the former WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal, this week on Raw, it seems WWE is on the right track with this superstar.

#2 Rusev

Rusev with his wife-cum-manager Lana are crazy over among fans on SmackDown Live, and the recent 'Rusev Day' gimmick including the duo and Aiden English was instrumental in putting Rusev over.

However, the recent feud between Aiden and Rusev came to an end when 'The Bulgarian Brute' defeated English clean two weeks ago on SmackDown Live. Thus, slowly and steadily WWE Creative are having him gather some momentum.

Even though he went on to lose his match against Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship in the kick-off show at Crown Jewel (which in-arguably hindered his momentum), rumour has it that he may go on a feud with Nakamura for the championship after Survivor Series.

A huge singles push for Rusev is long overdue and highly anticipated by fans. And right now it seems that the fans may finally get what they are craving for.

#1 Elias Samson

Given his prowess inside the ring, Elias Samson is an exciting talent, but what makes him a rare talent are his skills on the mic.

Soon after his debut on the WWE roster, he was regarded as a future top babyface of the company. However, barring a few feuds and storylines, Elias has not been part of any solid storyline, and has mostly featured on Raw as a heel, until weeks ago when he attacked Baron Corbin to turn face.

To say that Elias with his jabs and guitar reminds us of the heel Rock in some ways would not be wrong, but there is a huge difference in their personalities, and Elias needs to work hard to reach that level.

With Roman's departure and the lack of legit draws in the top card, WWE has started building up Elias for a push. However, it remains to be seen what storyline the creative have in store for him, given Corbin is feuding with Strowman at the moment.
