3 Possible things Roman Reigns could do at WrestleMania 35

The Big Dog is back!
The Big Dog is back!

In what was a heartwarming opening to Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns announced that his cancer was in remission. The Big Dog is now cancer free and is set to return to the ring imminently. He looks as good as he did a few months ago, as Universal Champion, but we will find out whether he is still that damn good in the ring. Various happenings later on in the show seemed to have set up an 8-man tag team match for Fastlane, pitting various mid-card guys on Raw with and against each other.

The Shield will likely reunite once again, as the trio will presumably team up with Braun Strowman to face the evil group of Corbin, McIntyre, Lashley, and Elias. A standard tag team match which shows just how dire Raw's mid-card scene is, but once which is spiced up by Roman's return. After Fastlane comes WrestleMania, a show that Reigns has main evented four times in a row. Surely this time though, it must be the women of Raw who will close the Show of Shows. That being said, what will Roman's role be at WrestleMania?

Here are three possible things for Roman Reigns to do at WrestleMania 35.

#3. One-on-one vs Dean Ambrose

These two were always brothers.
These two were always brothers.

Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose always remained brothers since the day they debuted on the WWE main roster as part of the Shield. Their relationship was tight even after Seth Rollins turned his back on them, up until last October when Reigns made his announcement. Ambrose shockingly turned heel that night, in the most perfect way possible. However, his run as a heel failed to click and it has been a severe disappointment.

It even led to him and Rollins having a bad match, something that was unheard of considering their tremendous chemistry. This has prompted Ambrose not to re-sign with WWE, as he is on his way out by WrestleMania.

With his current booking, Ambrose's exit might turn out to be unceremonious. But there is a possibility that WWE books the one rivalry that they haven't booked for all these years. A few months ago, Dave Meltzer said that the apparent plan for Reigns at WrestleMania was a match with Ambrose. WWE could do it at this point, giving one of their workhorses a major final match at the Grandest Stage.

He hasn't wrestled on the main card of 'Mania since 2016, so that would be an added bonus. This was the one rivalry that never happened, but it could still take place if it jumps through all the hoops that might prevent this match from happening, like Roman's readiness for a one-on-one match and willingness to give Ambrose a high profile exit.

#2. Another multi-person tag team match

Another 8-man tag?
Another 8-man tag?

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins came to Dean Ambrose's aid on Raw, fighting off Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and Elias. This will likely set up an 8-man tag team match at Fastlane pitting the Shield and Braun Strowman against the four heels.

It would be a nice feel-good comeback match for the Big Dog, but could something similar take place at WrestleMania as well? The mid-card scene on Raw has been a frustrating mess for months now, with the only solution being the post-WrestleMania superstar shakeup. So maybe, we will get another variation of the same concept.

If Reigns is not ready for one-on-one action just yet, he could team up with Strowman, Ambrose and possibly Kurt Angle, but not Seth Rollins, in another multi-man tag team match. It is the only way to get all of these Raw mid-carders on the main card of WrestleMania, without them going anywhere near Finn Balor and his Intercontinental Championship.

It might be a lazy booking decision, but a potentially necessary one. Anyway, WWE's new season always starts after WrestleMania. If this does take place, expect shenanigans galore.

#1. Being in Seth Rollins' corner against Brock Lesnar

Expect a big post-match celebration.
Expect a big post-match celebration.

This option has the most meaning for Roman Reigns, as well as the entire story as a whole. Seth Rollins will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania, something Reigns did last year. That was his second 'Mania main event against Lesnar, with the first one coming at WrestleMania 31.

The two were having a brutal slobber knocker of a brawl before Rollins came running down the ramp to cash in his Money in the Bank contract mid-match. He would walk away with the Beast's title, something he could do again in less than six weeks' time.

But this time, he could have the support of his brother during the match. This also ties in with the fact that Reigns had beaten Lesnar for the big red belt at SummerSlam, before being forced to relinquish it due to his leukemia returning.

After Rollins dethrones the Beast once and for all, we could get a huge celebration with all three members of the Shield, especially after they seem to be reuniting again. It would be an extremely emotional moment, possibly the last one with Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose for a good while. It probably is the best possible sendoff for Ambrose, to spend the moment with his two brothers, one who conquered the Beast and the other who conquered leukemia, again.
