3 potential challengers for Seth Rollins' WWE Universal Championship

Seth Rollins opened WrestleMania 35 with his Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar. As many had already predicted, he beat the Beast and won the championship. Now Seth Rollins is flying high and is eagerly awaiting to see who his next opponent will be.

During the recent Superstar Shake-up, Seth Rollins remained on Raw, but his former teammates on the Shield did not. Roman Reigns moved to the blue brand in a bid to find greener pastures after being ever present on Raw.

Dean Ambrose's contract was up and he is currently out of WWE, but rumors have suggested that the Lunatic will be back, and it is a matter of when and not if.

Given all that, it is now Seth Rollins' time to shine, with Brock Lesnar not in line to challenge Rollins for the title, it is high time the creative team at WWE find worthy opponents and mouth-watering storylines for the Beast Slayer.

Here are 3 opponents who we think are worthy of challenging for the title.

#3 Sami Zayn

It is evident that Seth Rollins will be the babyface champion, as he has portrayed the heel role for a good amount of time and it is time he portrays the babyface champion for the first time in his career.

For every babyface, you need a heel, and who better than Sami Zayn in the current setup to challenge Rollins for the gold. Recently Sami Zayn has been cutting promos that are the gold standard, and after a lengthy lay off, he seems like a changed man.

It is also rumored that one of the promos was not scripted. Sami Zayn will surely give Seth a run for his money with the mic, but he needs to improve his in-ring performances.

#2 Andrade

Andrade moved to Monday Night Raw from SmackDown Live in the recent Superstar Shake-up. Many might say this superstar is not big enough to face Seth Rolins, but let me tell you how serious WWE is about Andrade.

He made his Raw debut this week and was put in a fight against the Intercontinental Champion, Finn Balor, who by no means is a pushover for the company. Yet they decided that Andrade should win the match and beat Finn Balor before he was shipped to SmackDown Live.

WWE are also careful not to let his lack of mic skills affect his career, and they have assigned a general manager for him in the form of Zelina Vega, who did a fine job in the debut match. Rollins and Andrade might be a feud that is booked for a time later down the year, but it is one the fans are eagerly waiting for.

#1 AJ Styles

Everyone reading this article would have already guessed who the number 1 is going to be, and indeed it is the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles.

It is a guarantee that Seth Rollins and AJ Styles would be put against each other this year and could possibly be the headliners for WrestleMania 36. But we have to wait and see whether the creative team takes up the option to start their feud early and pick up on this towards the end of this season, or whether they will wait for this story to slowly build up.

AJ Styles and Seth Rollins have faced each other in the past, but an episodic WWE match is a much greater deal than their previous clash. Here is the video of the first time they fought, and that was a time Seth Rollins was known as Tyler Black.
