Was this Vince Mcmahon's plan all along?

Till about a few days ago, the WWE Universe were not looking forward to this year's edition of Survivor Series and rightly so. The PPV was marred by sub-par matches that nobody cared about. But as they say, 'anything can happen in the WWE' and a slew of surprising announcements later, we now have an overhauled match line-up, which is much better than the original.

WWE fans all around the world breathed the biggest sigh of relief when AJ Styles pinned Jinder Mahal to become a two-time WWE Champion. As a result, instead of an underwhelming encounter between Mahal and Lesnar, fans will witness a match they never thought they would ever see inside a WWE ring.

Survivor Series will witness an epic encounter between AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar, in what should be a match for the ages.

But is it a wise decision by the WWE to pit these two larger than life superstars against each other at Survivor Series? Here, we take a look at three reasons why Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles at Survivor Series is a bad idea and two reasons why it's a good one.

#1 Bad Idea - Brock Lesnar will win

Enter c
Brock Lesnar is expected to win this dream match.

Ever since Brock Lesnar shocked the entire world by ending The Undertaker's undefeated winning streak at Wrestlemania 30, the Lesnar train has been impossible to stop. "The Beast" has conquered and decimated every WWE Superstar he has stepped inside the squared circle with. John Cena, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Triple H, Big Show, Dean Ambrose were completely annihilated at the hands of Lesnar with ease.

It makes one wonder, does AJ Styles stand a chance against Lesnar at the last big PPV of the year? The answer is, unfortunately, a BIG no.

The whole idea behind the monstrous booking of Brock Lesnar is to establish WWE as Roman Reigns' yard. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar at next year's Wrestlemania is a sure-fire thing, and "The Big Dog" is expected to win this marquee encounter.

The WWE seems gung-ho about the coronation of Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania and a loss for Brock Lesnar before that will lead to his momentum coming to a screeching halt. Thus, when AJ Styles squares off against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, it will be wise to expect Lesnar to emerge victorious in this incredible clash.

Also, if AJ Styles loss to Finn Balor at TLC is anything to go by, then Styles does not stand a chance in beating any well established Raw Superstar, let alone the champ of Monday Nights.

AJ Styles deserved to win at TLC, and he once again deserves to win at Survivor Series, but the WWE Universe knows better by now.

#2 Bad Idea - AJ Styles does not deserve a visit to 'Suplex City'

En
AJ Styles is the best wrestler in the world. Period.

To say that Brock Lesnar has been on a roll of late, will be the biggest understatement ever made. Other professional wrestlers can only dream of getting the kind of monstrous push that Lesnar has received over the year. But what has been most shocking about Brock's recent WWE run is the ease with which he has dismantled all his opponents inside the squared circle.

The best example of this is Brock Lesnar's latest title defence against Braun Strowman at No Mercy. Strowman was established by the WWE as a force to be reckoned with and a wrestler who is impossible to beat. But all it took for Lesnar to conquer the monster was one F5 out of nowhere. One trip to 'Suplex City' and Braun Strowman's aura vanished into thin air in the blink of an eye.

When AJ Styles goes one on one with Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, a victory for him seems far-fetched. AJ Styles will be lucky if he doesn't get thrown around in the ring like a jobber before one thundering F5 ends it all.

Nobody would have bat an eyelid if Jinder Mahal was destroyed by Brock at Survivor Series. But AJ Styles has proven time and time again that he is the best wrestler on this planet, and deserves better, and a whole lot more than a trip to 'Suplex City'.

#3 Bad Idea - Match will establish Universal Title as the superior Championship

E
Which Championship is more prestigious?

Survivor Series is all about brand supremacy and bragging rights. All of Raw's Champions are slated to fight against champs from the blue brand. Whichever brand wins the most number of matches at Survivor Series will be established as the crown jewel of the WWE.

But it may be the worst hidden secret of the WWE that Vince McMahon has always wanted Smackdown to play second fiddle to Raw, which could mean that Raw will beat Smackdown 3-2 or 4-1 at Survivor Series.

Sadly, this also means that the WWE is not only establishing Raw as the superior brand but also the Raw Champions and Championships as miles ahead of their Smackdown counterparts.

Therefore, when Brock Lesnar beats AJ Styles at Survivor Series, the Universal Championship will be established as the most prestigious and significant title in sports entertainment. Both AJ Styles and Smackdown certainly deserve a whole lot more than playing second fiddle.

#4 Good Idea - Much better match than Brock Lesnar vs Jinder Mahal

This match would have sucked.

Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar was probably the most uninteresting booking in the recent past. But luckily for everyone involved, WWE decided to pull the plug on this encounter at the very last moment.

Brock Lesnar is usually involved in extremely short matches where he manhandles his opponents, while Jinder Mahal is yet to deliver a half decent match in his entire WWE tenure. Thus, the WWE might have just avoided the biggest disaster ever in pro wrestling history.

There is a huge possibility that Brock Lesnar will have another easy outing against AJ Styles. But AJ Styles is without a shadow of a doubt the best wrestler on God's green earth. And if Brock can deliver a good 'Wrestling' match before he hangs up his wrestling boots, AJ Styles is the best opponent to face.

Hopefully, if the WWE decides to do what's right instead of shoving what they want up viewer's throats, AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar can certainly deliver a 5-star match that will linger in our memories forever.

#5 Good Idea - It is a dream match come true

Enter c
It is certainly a dream match come true.

The entire WWE Universe was pleasantly shocked when AJ Styles delivered an earth-shattering Phenomenal Forearm to pick the victory against Jinder Mahal on Smackdown.

As a result, we get to witness a match that nobody knew they wanted until this very moment. Discussing fantasy matches is one of the favourite hobbies of wrestling enthusiasts, and this match was surely on every ardent fans' list. Thus, AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar is a truly a dream match come true.

Hopefully, the WWE will ensure that this never before seen bout main events the show. AJ Styles v/s Brock Lesnar is a wrestling clinic in the making, and the ball is entirely in WWE's court.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Survivor Series delivers the goods and is a bang for the buck PPV. An AJ Styles victory over Brock Lesnar will be an incredible moment and will also guarantee that Survivor Series goes down in the history books as a must-see PPV.
