Extreme Rules was one of the best pay-per-views in a while and maybe the best of 2019. The show was filled with exciting, unpredictable moments and enthralling matches. We saw many title changes, some of them uncalled for, while some of them were shocking.

The kick-off show saw Shinsuke Nakamura defeat Finn Balor and become the new Intercontinental Champion. The main show started with the Undertaker and Roman Reigns getting the better of Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in what was a good match.

We saw the New Day become the SmackDown Tag Team Champions and KofiMania reigned supreme over Samoa Joe. This means every single superstar in the New Day squad is now the holder of gold. Also, Ricochet's short-lived United States title reign came to an end as AJ Styles beat him in an incredible match.

The biggest shock of the day though came in the main event after Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch got the better of Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans, Brock Lesnar cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and pinned Rollins after delivering the F5 to become the new Universal Champion.

Many WWE fans have since conveyed their anger on various social media fronts, so in this slideshow, we are going to talk about the three reasons why Lesnar becoming the Universal Champion has angered fans:

#3 Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins is a feud that doesn't excite us anymore

Yeah, we are in for another round of conquering the beast contest with the same contestants Rollins, and of course, Lesnar. Ever since Seth Rollins cashed in his MITB contract on Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, this feud has been shoved down our throats.

Then again, Rollins got the better of Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 and we thought after an Architect victory, maybe we wouldn't see Lesnar near that Universal title but no, Vince McMahon loves a bad surprise.

And now that Lesnar has completed the full circle and successfully cashed in his MITB contract, we are in for another Rollins vs Lesnar feud and this may be very long. So, frankly, in my opinion, I don't really get excited by the idea of the Beast Incarnate facing the Beast Slayer.

#2 Brock Lesnar - the part-time Universal Champion

We are going to see him once or twice a month
We are going to see him once or twice a month

Yeah, we are again going to see Lesnar make an appearance once on Raw in a month before a PPV and see Paul Heyman saying the reigning, defending, undisputed..... what not and then on the PPV night, Lesnar destroying his opponent and this cycle following on until another WrestleMania. Frankly, I cant bear that again.

The supposedly biggest title in the WWE will be worn by a wrestler who is mostly a part-timer who shows his face once or maybe twice a month, while superstars like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Seth Rollins entertain us every week. Yup, brilliant idea, Vince McMahon.

#1 Brock Lesnar doesn't deserve to be the Universal Champion

WWE killed all the momentum Seth Rollins had
WWE killed all the momentum Seth Rollins had

The single biggest reason why most of the WWE Universe is angry is that Brock doesn't deserve to be a champion. Over the last couple of months, he has been on WWE programming for five or six times and he hasn't had any full-fledged matches. He won the Money in the Bank contract when he wasn't in the original match, showing up for 2 minutes. The same happened here as he showed up for 2 minutes and left as a Universal Champion.

Also, this kills all the momentum that Becky and Rollins had behind them before the PPV, and they were believable as a couple but now, we are going back to that same routine of ' I will conquer the Beast at SummerSlam'. So, WWE fans, brace yourselves.
