Various reports have been suggesting that the current plans for the WWE title at WrestleMania 35 include a returning Kevin Owens to face off against The Planet's Champion. WWE's Youtube account has been posting personal videos of Kevin Owens hanging put with his son and updating the fans on his return.

In these videos, Owens is seen acting like a babyface, trying to cope up with the stress of coming back inside the squared circle again, and being very casual about it. He talks about having a new perspective on life and how it has changed him for good.

It's not hard to figure out where this is going. Kevin Owens will be returning to the ring as a face and will face a heel Daniel Bryan for the top prize at the grandest stage of them all. It kind of makes sense, when you look at it from a storyline perspective. Kevin Owens is out there, eating fries, bowling with his kid, just being your typical dad. This is against the principles of Daniel Bryan, who hates anything that hurts the environment, especially those fries that Kevin was eating.

The story certainly writes itself, but here are three reasons why this is a bad idea for WrestleMania.

#3 It's all going too fast

Kevin Owens has spent the entirety of his time in the WWE as a dastardly heel, who likes to break people's trust and stab them in the back whenever he gets a chance. The fans still haven't forgotten "The Festival of Friendship", a segment in which Owens turned on Chris Jericho that led to a WrestleMania match between them.

Now, all of a sudden, he is coming back as a babyface who loves his kids and plays with them, and wants the WWE Universe to immediately accept him as a strong contender for the top prize at Mania? There's not much time left for the show of shows to emanate from Metlife Stadium, and thrusting Kevin Owens as a babyface against a heel Daniel Bryan as the SmackDown brand's main event will result in utter silence or a chorus of boos.

#2 The SmackDown card doesn't scream excitement

As The Grandest Stage of Them All is looming near, things aren't looking promising for the SmackDown brand.

From what we have seen so far, we're going to get Shane McMahon vs The Miz at WrestleMania 35. This match wouldn't be able to evoke any emotion from the sea of fans, considering how their short term title reign didn't exactly set the stage on fire.

The SmackDown Women's champion Asuka was nowhere to be seen until this past week when she lost to Mandy Rose on SmackDown.

She has been completely sidelined in favor of the Raw Women's title match. If the rumors are to be believed, Asuka will be facing the brand new NXT addition to the main roster, Lacey Evans. This already looks like a throwaway match considering the buildup hasn't even begun yet.

With a card like this, featuring Bryan vs Owens as the blue brand's main event will only make things worse.

#1 This is Kofi Kingston's time to shine

It has taken Kofi Kingston almost a decade to come back into the main event scene and the WWE title picture. He has shown that he is one of the most exciting WWE Superstars of this era and the fans can rally behind him for a long time.

His outings in the SmackDown gauntlet match and the Elimination Chamber showed that the WWE Universe desperately wants Kofi to finally realize his lifelong dream and become the WWE Champion.

The chances of this actually happening are looking very slim at the moment as Kofi is set to face Bryan for the title at Fastlane. There's no way he is going into WrestleMania as the Champion. The better story would be to build a storyline around Kingston, showcase his struggles to grab the brass ring, and his ascension to the top of the WWE food chain.

Owens can get his chance at gold after the dust settles down, but the WWE needs to run with what they've got here and give us a WrestleMania moment to remember.
