At the end of the day, we all know that this feud is the continuation of what panned out at Crown Jewel. Mysterio's son was beaten hard by Brock Lesnar, so Mysterio brought in Cain Velasquez to be the equaliser, but the former UFC star failed in his attempt to defeat The Beast at Crown Jewel.

For some reason, this looks like a filler feud, booked to keep Velasquez in and around the WWE Championship picture. Hence, if Mysterio wins, this feud between him and The Beast is likely to continue for a long while.

Then, after some time, Lesnar could win the WWE Championship again, only this time he beats and brutalises Mysterio. Those events could then transpire to a Velasquez vs Lesnar rematch. It's pretty standard storytelling, as most expect Velasquez to get another chance at Lesnar.

Don't be surprised if this feud between Mysterio and Lesnar stretches out until even Royal Rumble and then WWE decides to bring Velasquez back in the mix.
