3 reasons why WWE should do Brock Lesnar vs Batista as soon as possible

Batista vs Brock Lesnar is the dream match that should have happened - but never has

Batista and Brock Lesnar are two genetic freaks who have never had a match against each other on WWE's main roster. It is shocking to comprehend this fact since both of them made their WWE debuts in 2002 and have received massive pushes throughout their careers.

Brock Lesnar was the next big thing until 2004 when he decided to quit WWE to pursue a career in football. Batista's singles push came a bit later but saw him standing tall in the end at WrestleMania 2005.

Since then, Batista and Brock Lesnar's WWE runs clashed only once - in 2014. However, Lesnar was on his way to break The Undertaker's streak whereas Batista was involved in a feud against Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan.

Now, since both Lesnar and Batista are with the company at the moment, WWE should do the Animal vs the Beast, possibly at SummerSlam 2019. On this list, we take a look at a few reasons why WWE should go for such an intense match-up.

#3 Both have some history

Batista, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Brock Lesnar were the part of the Class of 2002

Remember when I mentioned Batista and Brock Lesnar never had a match against each other on the WWE main roster? Batista and Lesnar had a one on one match at Ohio Valley Wrestling (WWE's developmental territory) in 2001.

The Animal and The Beast share a common history. Both of them were part of the Class of 2002 - a group of four prodigies who would become legendary WWE Superstars in the coming years.

The Class of 2002 includes Batista, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and Randy Orton. All four of them were OVW graduates and made their main roster debuts in 2002.

Every member of the Class of 2002 had at least one match against each other on the main roster - except Batista and Brock Lesnar. Thus having the two freaks go at it against each other would close a circle in the history books.

#2 It is a money match

Batista is a popular Hollywood star

At the end of the day, WWE is a business, and the primary objective is to maximize the profit made. We got a rematch of John Cena and The Rock at WrestleMania 29 because of the exact reason - profit. Their once in a lifetime bout at WrestleMania 28 sold tickets and got them more than enough sponsorship deals to convince WWE to have a rematch between the icons.

Similar to The Rock and John Cena, Batista is also a famous Hollywood superstar - well known for his role as Drax The Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Brock Lesnar does not need any introduction when it comes to his drawing power. The Beast is one of the biggest box office attractions when it comes to combat sports.

Thus a match between these two powerhouses will boost WWE's profit as they have proven their drawing power numerous times.

#1 If not now, this clash may never happen

Brock Lesnar is just over 40, and he could be with WWE for many more years to come.

However, two months ago, in January 2019, Batista turned 50. While many WWE Superstars have wrestled regularly even after turning 50, we cannot say the same for Batista. Batista is still a huge Hollywood star and will have to go back to Hollywood eventually. Thus, many WWE fans speculate Batista's current run to be his last with the company as an in-ring worker.

Thus the time constraint is very tight when it comes to Batista. If WWE officials are planning to pull the trigger on the potential dream match between Brock Lesnar and Batista, they have to do it now - in 2019. Since Batista's WrestleMania 35 opponent is speculated to be Triple H, we may have to wait till SummerSlam to see the showdown between the two behemoths.
