Roman Reigns returned to RAW on this week's episode and he was welcomed back by fans with a huge reception. The Big Dog spent his first few minutes back shaking hands and hugging fans at ringside before going over to his family who were also at ringside.

Once inside the ring, Reigns thanked fans for their overwhelming support over the last few months before delivering the news we were all hoping to hear - his leukemia was in remission. Reigns didn't announce a return date but a report last week broke the news that he has already started training for his return.

On his way back up the ramp, Seth Rollins came out to greet his brother. Roman's best friend Dean Ambrose was conspicuous with his absence but we found out why later in the night.

During the end of Dean Ambrose's match against Drew McIntyre, Elias came out and cost Ambrose the match. McIntyre hit him with a Claymore Kick for the win. Elias and McIntyre beat Ambrose down after the match and were soon joined by Lashley.

This led to Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins coming out to make the save. Roman hit Lashley with a Superman Punch before Rollins hit Elias with a Curbstomp. This was followed by Reigns hitting a Spear to Drew McIntyre.

Rollins and Reigns then walked away as Dean Ambrose stood in the middle of the ring. What does all this mean? WWE definitely teased a Shield reunion and we could get it sooner rather than later.

#5 One last reunion before Ambrose leaves

Dean Ambrose

Reports that emerged soon after the 2019 Royal Rumble stated that Dean Ambrose had refused to sign a new WWE contract and was on his way out of the company.

If that is indeed the case, WWE may be looking to do one last Shield reunion for all the Shield fans in the WWE Universe. Even WWE know that no one can take Dean's place in the trio.

#4 There's too much money in it

The Shield
The Shield

This is certainly a factor. The Shield are one of the most popular factions in recent WWE history and all three members are former world champions.

If Dean Ambrose does leave WWE after WrestleMania, this is a chance for WWE to not only give fans what they want but also to capitalize on merch sales and the temporary increase in ratings any reunion may generate.

#3 To possibly set up a Fastlane match

WWE Fastlane
WWE Fastlane

Face it, WWE Fastlane is one of the most inconsequential PPV's on WWE's calendar. A lot of fans usually don't care too much about it because we know not much will change in the status quo this close to WrestleMania.

If Roman Reigns is indeed fit and ready to return, WWE could book a match for The Shield against Drew McIntyre, Elias and Lashley at Fastlane. Reigns in-ring return and that too with The Shield, that's bound to generate interest.

#2 A feelgood moment for the fans

Roman Reigns' announcement at the opening of RAW was the most emotional moment in WWE since Reigns announce he was leaving in October. There were grown men in the audience who were tearing up as Roman thanked everyone for their support and announced he was in remission again.

Roman and Seth coming out to help Dean Ambrose could have just been WWE's way of giving fans a feelgood moment during the show.

#1 Something for Rollins to do until Mania

Seth Rollins will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania but since the Universal Champion doesn't usually show up on RAW, this storyline could be a way for WWE to give Rollins something to do until the final buildup to WrestleMania.

This storyline can keep Rollins busy till Fastlane before WWE makes Lesnar return in the final weeks ahead of Mania.
