McIntyre and WWE parted ways in 2014 after a forgettable run. After improving himself in all aspects while wrestling in other promotions, McIntyre made his WWE return in 2017.
He later revealed that Triple H was the one who contacted him for a return.
Triple H convinced me it was time to come home. I’m proud of the different man I became during my time away. I came back as the grown-up version of myself.
McIntyre was pushed as a legit monster, and the moniker of The Scottish Psychopath suited his personality and demeanor. He went on to win the 2020 Royal Rumble match earlier this year, and defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 to win his first WWE Championship.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
