#1 Shouldn't win: A former winner

The Royal Rumble is a huge opportunity for a Superstar to make a name for themselves overnight, by going the distance, and earning themselves a World title match at WrestleMania.
But whilst the Rumble match is practically built to create new stars, the WWE have often relied on former winners, seeing them as safe bets as main eventers.
From 2013-2017, only one winner was a first-time victor, with John Cena (2013), Batista (2014), Triple H (2016) and Randy Orton (2017) all notching up their second Rumble wins.
These choices have often come back to haunt the WWE and shows the company lacking faith in their younger Superstars.
But Cena and Orton won't be there forever, and frankly, the WWE needs to learn to trust their much younger Superstars.
