3 things that could happen at WWE Super ShowDown 2019

As summer approaches and the weather heats up, so does the action in the WWE, as for the third time ever, WWE heads to Saudi Arabia and will be broadcast live from the King Abdullah International Stadium in the city of Jeddah with WWE Super ShowDown.

The show is the roadblock on the way to WWE Stomping Grounds, which will be held a few weeks after Super ShowDown. As usual for the “Super” shows, this card is stacked and is being advertised as being equal to or better than WrestleMania, so let’s go over the card.

To kick things off, Lars Sullivan will make his in-ring debut as he takes on the Lucha House Party in a 3 on 1 Handicap Match. “The Demon” Finn Balor will make an appearance as he defends the Intercontinental Championship against Andrade. Braun Strowman will clash with Bobby Lashley, and there is a 50 Man Battle Royal.

In the main events of the evening, a banged-up Seth Rollins will defend the Universal Championship against Baron Corbin, and Kofi Kingston will defend the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler. Both champions will be wrestling with the threat of Brock Lesnar and his Money in the Bank contract looming.

Roman Reigns will take on Shane McMahon, who will have Drew McIntyre in his corner. Triple H and Randy Orton will rehash their decade long feud. Finally, in what will likely be the main event of the show, The Undertaker will go head to head with Goldberg for the first time in their legendary careers.

With that being said, here are three things possible for this Friday’s show. Leave your thoughts and predictions in the comments below and stay tuned to Sportskeeda for the latest breaking news and rumors as the show draws closer and closer.

#3: There will be numerous WWE 24/7 title changes during the 50 Man Battle Royal

The current WWE 24/7 Champion R Truth

One of the main attractions for this Friday’s Pay Per View is a 50 Man Battle Royal, which is the largest Battle Royal in WWE history. With so many bodies in the ring at the same time, it is the perfect scenario for shenanigans with the WWE 24/7 Championship.

As of this writing, R Truth is the current 24/7 Champion, but he has many superstars chasing him and wanting to take the title from him. I think it’s safe to assume that Truth will be one of the 50 men in the match, so when he comes out you can expect all hell to break loose.

I think a lot of superstars might get eliminated or eliminate themselves in an attempt to take the belt off of Truth. Even if they get eliminated, that doesn’t mean they’ll head to the back with a chance at gold right in front of them.

I’m not sure how many title changes there will be or if Truth will walk out of Super ShowDown with the title, but one thing is for sure and that is that the Battle Royal is sure to give us some entertaining moments.

#2 Seth Rollins will retain the Universal Championship against Baron Corbin

Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin come face to face again

Even after a brutal beatdown this past Monday on RAW where he was taken to a local facility for medical attention, Seth Rollins has said he will be at Super ShowDown to defend his Universal Championship against Baron Corbin.

This match will have lots of attention since the threat of Brock Lesnar and the Money in the bank briefcase looms large, but I believe that Rollins will retain his title here. However, the finish most likely won't be clean.

Rollins really has no clear-cut opponents lined up, especially with the Wild Card Rule. Drew McIntyre is busy with Roman Reigns, who he will face at WWE Stomping Ground. AJ Styles is currently injured, so the Corbin-Rollins feud will most likely continue past Friday.

This match will be the typical heel beating down a badly injured babyface, but the babyface comes back and pulls off the gritty win. So, expect Rollins to walk out of Super ShowDown still WWE Universal Champion, despite the odds being against him.

#1 Brock Lesnar will at least tease cashing in on Kofi Kingston

Will Brock Lesnar cash in on Kofi Kingston?

Speaking of Brock Lesnar and the Money in the Bank briefcase, all we know is that Lesnar will be at Super Showdown Friday and he has “said” he will cash in on “Friday”. However, if he does is a different question and I think WWE is throwing the fans a red herring.

Lesnar has focused his attention and attacks on Seth Rollins lately, which makes sense since Rollins is the man that dethroned Lesnar at WrestleMania via a low blow and multiple stomps. Lesnar laid a brutal beat down to Rollins on Monday, but it seems like WWE is trying to throw us off the scent of what they really have planned.

Doesn’t anyone else find it interesting that aside from Lesnar’s music playing after Kofi Kingston’s match with Sami Zayn a few weeks ago, Lesnar had paid no attention to Kofi and the WWE Championship?

Fans are of the belief that WWE is doing what they are doing with Lesnar and Rollins to throw us off to the fact that Lesnar will cash in on Kofi, not Rollins. Kofi does have back up in the form of Xavier Woods, but that will do little to scare off Lesnar in the end.

The most likely scenario is Kingston having a long, gruelling match with Dolph Ziggler on Friday and ultimately retaining, but after the match, he will be so worn out that he can’t get up. At that time, Lesnar’s music will hit and he will come to the ring and tease cashing in the contract then and there, but ultimately just walking away and keeping everyone in suspense for a little while longer.
