For WWE, 2018 was a huge year, and there's still a bit of the year left to go, leaving the possibility of an even bigger outcome. This was a year which saw some radical changes in the company.

First of all, the 205 Live division was renovated, as the booking style was changed completely with impressive matches and incredible storylines becoming the centre piece of the brand.

This was the year of the women as well, ranging from the first ever women's Royal Rumble, to the first ever exclusive women's pay per view, Evolution.

One of the biggest things to happen for WWE from a financial point of view and something which will affect every WWE product for years to come is the deal they signed with Fox, which starts in 2019.

With 2019 almost upon us, it is time to take a look at a few things WWE should do in the coming year.

#3 Drew McIntyre as the next Universal Champion

Drew McIntyre is currently one of the best heels WWE has on their main roster. Formerly paired with Dolph Ziggler, McIntyre has not done work at the level expected of him, however, he has been engaged in some of the best action that can be expected from a wrestler of his calibre.

While he has been wrestling the likes of Roman reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins, he has not gotten the Universal title. Given the wrestler he is, he shouldn't just be competing for the main event title, but he should be winning it as well. This should change in 2019.

He broke up with Ziggler, and now may start a short feud, and could go on to compete for the Universal title. Drew along with Lashley and Baron Corbin are the perfect pair on Raw, and McIntyre with the title would be a vast improvement to the show

#2 Make NXT a separate brand

For too long NXT has languished as a separate entity and developmental brand away from the actual WWE, and for years now NXT has put on show after show, with arguably better content than WWE's main roster.

This could be the year to give them the recognition they deserve, as getting them a television contract would not be too difficult. WWE could also draw the audience's attention to the brand with an invasion, in a similar fashion to how Nexus had invaded Raw all those years ago, such an invasion would have a huge impact on the overall product as well.

A battle between the brands at Survivor Series could settle their differences. Aleister Black facing Seth Rollins, Lars Sullivan facing Braun Strowman, and Velveteen Dream going up against The Miz.

These are just too exciting not to think about, and this is something WWE should do in 2019.

#1 Revamp SmackDown Live

SmackDown is finally set to get a whole new home away from USA. No longer playing second fiddle to Raw, SmackDown will be on a separate network altogether from October 1, as Fox will be picking up SmackDown, and in doing so they are making sure that they get a whole new look.

On top of that, the show is likely to become 3 hours as well, meaning that they could easily change things enough to create a difference in the product, needing to fill up more time than the two hours they are currently used to.

The company should revamp the blue brand, and freshen things up, taking a step away from the sometimes boring product they put on.
