Having confronted Daniel Bryan in the last couple of weeks, it looked like Shinsuke Nakamura would be in line to build a feud with the former, but The Fiend's attack on Bryan has now waned the possibility of a Nakamura-Bryan storyline.

Considering Nakamura's next opponent wasn't revealed on SmackDown this week, he could have a match against other mid-card champions to prove brand supremacy at Survivor Series.

Nakamura didn't put the title on the line at Crown Jewel, where he was part of Team Flair. After missing SmackDown last week, he participated in a tag team battle on SmackDown this week. Teaming up with Cesaro, Nakamura picked up a victory for his team and in the process pocketed some much-needed momentum before Survivor Series.

While the Intercontinental Champion generally locks horns with the US Champion in a one-on-one match at Survivor Series, it might turn out to be different this year. Since The O.C. invaded NXT and assaulted The Undisputed Era this week, it could lead to a triple threat match between The Intercontinental Champion, the US Champion, and the NXT North American Champion, Roderick Strong.

A match between Roderick Strong, AJ Styles, and Nakamura will be a dream fight for the fans, and it has the potential of stealing the show.
