The final match of the King of the Ring tournament was scheduled to take place at Clash of Champions, but it was eventually moved to RAW. Chad Gable and Baron Corbin, who were the final two competitors to reach the final, had a stupendous match on RAW.

A large number of fans were rooting for Gable, as he was an underdog from the start of the tournament. Yet, even after overcoming several hurdles, Gable could not go past Baron Corbin.

The tournament brought out Corbin's best as he defeated some notable names to win the crown. Corbin picked up a victory over the eight-time Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, in the very first round and subsequently he beat Cedric Alexander in the quarter-final. However, Cornin faced a huge task in the semifinal of the tournament as he faced off against Samoa Joe and Ricochet in a triple threat match but was on top of his game to clinch a win.

After the King of the Ring victory, it is clear that WWE has big plans for Corbin. He is already one of the most captivating heels of the Red Brand, and he manages to create quite a bit of heat in the ring and outside the ring. Corbin was in the Universal Title picture earlier, and it is possible that King Corbin could be back in the title picture within a few months.
