The anticipated Ronda Rousey heel turn finally took place on this week's Monday Night Raw.
Ronda laid out the title before Stephanie Mcmohan last week because of the fact that Becky Lynch's suspension was not lifted by WWE management. But 'The Baddest Woman on the Planet' appeared this week during the main event.
Earlier in the night, Stephanie had announced that Charlotte Flair would face Becky Lynch for the vacated RAW women's championship at Fastlane subjected to the fact that Lynch signs an agreement that she will not sue the WWE if she gets further injured at Fastlane.
During the agreement signing, Ronda charged to the ring and claimed that the title was never vacated by her. Stephanie duly obliged with Rousey and handed the title back to Ronda Rousey.
Stephanie Mcmohan also added a stipulation to the Charlotte vs Becky match at Fastlane that if Becky wins, the Wrestlemania women's championship will be a triple threat involving all three ladies.
Ronda Rousey then went to decimate both her rivals. Charlotte escaped without much damage but Lynch bore the brunt of Rousey's frustration. After the attack, the condition of the already injured Lynch for Fastlane remains in doubt.
Here are 3 ways in which WWE can book the aforementioned match at Fastlane:
#1 Becky Lynch win
Based on rumors about the Wrestlemania match being a triple threat, this would be the most straight forward option for WWE.
Charlotte can dominate about 90 % of the match as the heel and Lynch would make the perennial babyface comeback. The story of this type of booking could be one in which even after all the obstacles, Becky finds a way to scrap through and fight for something that is rightfully hers.
Becky doesn't need a clean win as she can just win with a roll-up or something similar. Even Charlotte wouldn't look weak in defeat as she would dominate for the majority of the match and a plot could be made where Flair further aggravates Becky's injuries.
Ronda Rousey can deliver a post-match beatdown to cement her heel role and on the other hand, increase the sympathy for Lynch. She would be booked as the ultimate underdog that overcomes all difficulties.
#2 Dominant Charlotte win
Basically a squash match. Charlotte would dominate from start to finish.
The story could be on the lines where injuries and the beatdown last RAW could finally prove too much for "The Man". This would, in turn, block Becky's road to Wrestlemania and the Irish Lasskicker would have to find different avenues for her chance.
WWE did something similar at Royal Rumble where Becky lost her title to Asuka. Back then, she found a loophole to enter the Women's Royal Rumble to eventually win the whole thing. This time around there is no Royal Rumble to bail her out. So, the next few weeks could be very interesting on how Becky Lynch carves a path towards the Wrestlemania main event.
Becky could become for a real hindrance for everyone involved and after a few weeks, she would eventually get her match.
The probability of this one is the least out of the three but WWE could try it for the shock factor.
#3 Ronda Rousey disqualification
Ronda Rousey said this Monday that time for niceties is over.
Charlotte and Becky could be having an even fight and just when Lynch is about to win, a familiar entrance song would play. Ronda Rousey's. The RAW Women's champion does not have a scheduled match at Fastlane. Her preventing Becky from winning through disqualification would gain instant heat from the crowd. Rousey could destroy Becky first and then move on to Charlotte.
Stephanie said this week that she is not afraid to make big decisions regarding Ronda Rousey. That plot could play into this and Stephanie would put Becky into the match at Wrestlemania even though she lost just to show Rousey who is the boss.
Conclusion
This is another saga in the feud involving all three ladies. First, it was Becky vs Ronda then Charlotte vs Ronda and now it is Charlotte vs Rousey vs Becky if the Irish Lasskicker can beat Charlotte at Fastlane this Sunday. A classic match can be expected between the two.
Credit should be given to WWE as this has one of the most engaging feuds in the company at this point of time. The Fastlane PPV will take place on 10th March 2019 at the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, Ohio.
