Lana has been one of the most talked about performers in the WWE this past week. Her segment with Rusev on raw was considered to be one of the best segments this week. Add to that the reports which claim that Vince McMahon has big plans for Lana and you have so much to believe that she’s going to be one of the premier faces of the division. She’s got the promo skills/ acting abilities to be taken seriously as a character in the fictional realm of the WWE. Her strong screen presence just adds to her aura.
WWE has convincingly made the American audience cheer for the Ravishing Russian. Her ever increasing popularity garners much more eyes on her managerial role.
Here are 3 wrestlers Lana could and should manage-
1.Paige
Though WWE has had women managing other women, none of them have really stood out. And with the atmosphere of writing around the women being, what a former writer termed as confused, this combination of Paige and Lana can be something of a breakthrough. For once, WWE can write two women building each other up instead of ripping each other apart. For once, they can have a sensibility towards not writing women as being catty and crazy.
Both Lana and Paige have a strong screen presence. Lana is better on the mic and seems like a good diplomatic figure. While Paige handles business in the ring, Lana handles the politics.
This could be a fierce combination.
2.Dean Ambrose
Okay, firstly, Dean Ambrose needs no mouthpiece but his wild, untapped energy does need to be channelised, Ambrose is one of the best talkers in the company right now, But his one Achilles heel in the company has been the perception that he’s a lunatic fringe. That, believe it or not, is a way of disregarding his character. He’s an outlaw, he’s an anti- authority figure and that’s great but with Lana’s addition to the mix, his character may finally have a breakthrough when it comes to being smart.
Pardon the game of Thrones reference, but Ambrose is more like the Starks- brave, loyal but impulsive. Lana is more like a Lannister... Smart!
3.Adam Rose
There are many wrestlers who have the potential to do great things but aren’t able to. One of them is Adam Rose. If you watched the ESPN documentary about NXT, you know the struggles he has had to go through. He’s been dedicated to each one of his gimmicks but hasn’t had a breakthrough yet. Now, they have Rosa Mendes by his side and he’s still not over with the audience. Lana’s presence can guarantee that he doesn’t remain a comic character, that he gets some serious stuff to delve into in his character.
Lana’s presence as a manager can breathe some life into this gimmick.
