The chaotic Nikki Cross gimmick has evolved a lot from the character that Nikki Glencross/Nikki Storm originally debuted as in NXT in 2016.
One of the most popular female Superstars in NXT history, the Scot first made an impression as part of the SAnitY faction, while she also earned the respect and adulation of the fans during her 2017 feud with Asuka and her 2018 ‘secret’ storyline with Aleister Black.
As Cross explained to the Gorilla Position podcast before WrestleMania 35, the idea for her crazy character came from Triple H.
“What I’ve enjoyed the most about this character is that we’ve been able to develop for the last two-and-a-half, three years. Triple H had this brainchild and this idea and it was his baby and then he brought the idea to me and I loved it and then I was able to bring that to life and then put my salt and pepper [on it].”
