#4. Adopted child of his own: WWE Hall of Famer Gorilla Monsoon

Gorilla Monsoon is one of the most memorable WWE personalities and even went on to have the stage behind the curtain named after him, since this was his position at every wrestling event for a number of years.

Monsoon was a commentator, backstage manager, and even the on-screen WWF president for two years up until 1997. His love of the business was so strong that he was able to pass it on to his adopted son Joey Marella.

Monsoon had three children, Sharon, who was born in 1960, Joey, who was adopted in 1963 and Valerie who was born in 1966. Joey was the WWE Hall of Famer's only son and only adopted child.

Marella went on to follow in his father's footsteps by working for WWF as an official. Joey joined WWF in 1983 and famously went on to referee the match between Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III.

The former WWE star passed away after falling asleep at the wheel back in 1994 whilst driving home from a show. Fellow star Harvey Wippleman was alongside the star and was injured in the crash.
