A few weeks ago, Mustafa Ali made an unannounced appearance on SmackDown Live and interrupted the 'New Daniel Bryan'. He confronted Bryan about his new tactics and attitude and this set the stage for an impromptu match between the two on SmackDown Live. The two high-flyers put together a great match, but Bryan managed to make Ali tap out to the heel hook. However, Ali had won the hearts of many fans and backstage WWE officials.
He became a member of the SmackDown Live roster a week later. He teamed with AJ Styles in the main event of his first night as an active competitor of SmackDown Live to face Daniel Bryan and Andrade 'Cien' Almas. Ali managed to pin Bryan with his finisher to the surprise of many fans. The following week, he defeated Almas in another great match and was later attacked backstage by Bryan.
When you pin the WWE Champion on your first night, you know that a bright future lies ahead of you. The heart and soul of 205 Live may become the heart and soul of SmackDown Live in 2019.
