Roman Reigns finished his feud with King Corbin on the road to WWE WrestleMania 36 and was set to take on Goldberg for the Universal title at The Show of Shows. The COVID-19 pandemic made him change his mind, and The Big Dog went on a months-long hiatus. Reigns finally came back at SummerSlam 2020, but this guy wasn't the old Reigns anymore. Reigns showed heel tendencies while attacking The Fiend and Braun Strowman to end the show and later aligned with Paul Heyman to cement his heel turn.

Roman Reigns is currently ruling WWE SmackDown as its top heel
Reigns went on to win the Universal title and is still holding the coveted belt on SmackDown. He now calls himself The Tribal Chief, and this heel persona has been a big hit with the fans ever since his return. The WWE Universe had been wanting to see Reigns embrace his dark side for years on end, and WWE finally gave them what they had been asking for. Reigns' heel turn has turned him into one of the most compelling characters in wrestling today, and The Tribal Chief is bound to rule SmackDown for a long time to come.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
