Chris Jericho was suspended for 30 days back in 2012 after WWE was forced to act since the former World Champion was seen denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo.

The company was forced to issue an apology to its Brazilian fans as Jericho acted in a way that he believed would generate heat but it instead almost got the star arrested.

Jericho took on CM Punk that night in São Paulo and went on to kick the Brazilian flag, which in turn forced the police to intervene and threaten Jericho with an arrest. The former Champion apologized to the audience in attendance which allowed the show to continue but the company was forced to suspend Jericho for his actions and then apologize to the people of Brazil.

WWE even released their own statement on their official website following Jericho's suspension.

Luckily, Jericho wasn't out of action for very long and was able to return and participate in the Money in the Bank ladder match the following month.
