33-year-old WWE star to cost popular team their match against The New Day on RAW? Exploring the potential swerve

And then there were two in The New Day.
And then there were two in The New Day.

The New Day brought eyes to the tag team division in WWE at a time when it wasn't at its best. Their wars with The Usos especially, among plenty of others, stood out in the last decade.

With the unfortunate turn of events for Big E, the trio are now down to two. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, nevertheless, continue their run together. The former WWE Tag Team Triple Crown Champions will face the Alpha Academy on WWE RAW tonight.

Interestingly, Otis is still targeting honorary Judgment Day member JD McDonagh. Ahead of this week's edition of the flagship show, the former Mr. Money in the Bank reacted to McDonagh's post on Twitter/X:

Perhaps the cryptic message may be a subtle hint at what to expect on WWE RAW. Is Alpha Academy going to fall short against The New Day?

The New Day were involved in a feud with The Viking Raiders before Erik from the latter team got sidelined. Kofi Kingston and Ivar's singles matches in the last few weeks have caught the attention of several higher-ups. Check out the details here.

Xavier Woods wants to win singles gold in WWE, reminds fans of his win over Roman Reigns

Despite his attempt to dethrone The Tribal Chief during the latter's monumental reign, Xavier Woods couldn't ultimately do it. Earlier this year, he even challenged Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship in a losing effort.

While speaking to Superstar Crossover, Woods disclosed what he hopes to achieve before his career ends. He has been in the wrestling business for 20 years but is yet to win a singles title:

“So specifically, I want the white leather Intercontinental Championship. I like a story. Obviously me and Seth Rollins are the only ones to beat Roman [Reigns] up until Jey [Uso] has pinned him. We don’t talk about mine, but that’s fine." [H/T: WrestleZone]

The New Day star further talked about how it is necessary that he wins either the US or IC title before going after the World Championship:

"But in my head, I feel like in order to climb that mountain and become World Champion one day, I need a US Championship run. Need an Intercontinental Championship run. I need to not only prove to everybody but, more importantly, prove to myself that I can stand on my own legs. I can do this as a solo guy,” Woods explained.

His tag partner Kofi Kingston, after spending over a decade in the Stamford-based promotion, was finally able to capture the WWE Championship in 2019. Kingston reflected on his rivalry with a top star recently. Read about it here.
