Vince McMahon recently announced that Roman Reigns will be returning to Monday Night Raw next week where he will address the WWE Universe on his progress since being forced to walk away back in October.

Of course, Reigns has still been in the public eye over the past few months after guest starring in Nickelodeon's "Cousins For Life" and then starring alongside The Rock in Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw.

Reigns' battle with leukemia began more than a decade ago and so far reports have stated that he's doing well with his treatment. That means that there are a number of possibilities when it comes to what The Big Dog could be announcing on Monday Night Raw next week.

#4. That He Will Be Returning To WWE In A Part-Time Role

Roman Reigns has been a full-time superstar for the past six years, ever since he debuted on the main roster back at Survivor Series 2012 alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Those six years have included Reigns being able to overcome an incarcerated hernia and being suspended for 30 days for violating WWE's Wellness Policy.

Despite this, Reigns' biggest fight seems to be happening right now and if he's on Raw to announce that his battle with leukemia isn't going the way that he had hoped or that it could take much longer to make his return full-time, then WWE could have offered him a one-off deal to wrestle at WrestleMania or even at SummerSlam in August.

Many WWE superstars like John Cena and Brock Lesnar in recent years have taken advantage of WWE's part-time policy and having Reigns on TV for just one match every few months could still be beneficial to WWE.

#3. That His Battle Could Take Much Longer Than First Thought

WWE announced that Reigns will be addressing his battle with leukemia this coming week on Raw, which means that there will be a focus on his health and whether or not he is in a place where he needs to be to make a return.

So far, the former World Champion has only been missing from the ring for four months, which means that it's likely that this is just a progress update and that Reigns is in no condition to return to the ring just yet.

The WWE Universe has been backing him throughout his battle and will continue to do so no matter what he announces on Raw, but it's hoped that it's better news than when he was forced to announce his departure back in October.

#2. That He Will Return And Wrestle At WrestleMania

The flip side of a progress update is the fact that Reigns could also be announcing that the treatment has been a success so far and that he will be cleared in time to return to the ring at WrestleMania and go hunting for that Universal Championship that he never lost.

Of course, this would cause a number of issues since Seth Rollins currently has the rights to that title match after winning the Royal Rumble, but if Reigns is healed and ready to go at WrestleMania then WWE will have the headache of having to put together a match that keeps all superstars happy.

WrestleMania is just over a month away, so it will be interesting to see what happens if Reigns is cleared to be part of the show.

#1. Retirement From In-Ring Competition

Leukemia is something that Reigns has struggled with for more than a decade, which means that he is well aware of the enemy that he currently steps up against and whilst he's managed to get the better of it so many times, it's an unpredictable disease.

This means that whilst it's completely feasible that Reigns could be on Raw to announce that he's ready to return, there is also the chance that he's there to announce that he will be forced to walk away from the ring.

Having the level of treatment that Reigns would then require wouldn't allow him to travel as much with WWE, which would leave him with no choice but to retire from the ring for now with the option of returning when his fortunes change.

Of course, it is hoped that the announcement is much happier than this one and that Reigns will be back on WWE TV full-time in the near future, but in the interests of balance, this is still something that could happen.
