4 most likely opponents for John Cena to face at WrestleMania

John Cena

John Cena has been the cornerstone of WWE for more than 12 years now, but the leader of Cenation finds himself without any direction or opponent heading into WrestleMania this year.

Cena touched upon the subject before the Elimination Chamber match took place and stated that he had to win the match in order have a solid direction for Wrestlemania. However, things did not turn out the way Cena wanted and it was Roman Reigns who managed to win the Elimination Chamber match going on to face Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 34.

Here are 4 of the most likely candidates for facing Cena at the upcoming 'mania:

#4 Elias

Elias

Elias shocked the world when he defeated John Cena and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match on RAW a few weeks back to earn the chance to enter last in the Elimination Chamber match. Although, Elias ended up being one of the victims of Braun in the match and couldn't really make much of this opportunity of his.

In the past few months, Elias and John Cena have locked paths and been part of segments and matches with each other.

It would be a fitting feud for Wrestlemania as the up and coming Elias will be able to prove his mettle against a veteran like John Cena.

#3 Finn Balor

Finn Balor

Finn Balor is quite possibly one of the most underutilised talents on the entire roster as of now. It is almost as if WWE have no idea how to make better use of his talents.

Finn has not been part of any memorable feud for the past year and has basically just drifted from one match to another.

With a great showing at the Royal Rumble, things were looking up for the Demon King but even that did not materialise.

Now, he finds himself without an opponent for WrestleMania and who better than John Cena himself to give Finn the platform to reach the next level.

#2 Randy Orton

Randy Orton

Randy Orton and John Cena have had a lot of history together. They have faced each other on numerous occasions, they have teamed with each other but the one thing these two future Hall of Famers haven't done is face each other in singles competition at the grandest stage of them all.

John Cena has been advertised for the SmackDown exclusive PPV-- Fastlane; and it begets the question: Is Cena going to face a SmackDown Superstar at 'mania?

If yes, then who better than his nemesis to have a match against at Wrestlemania. Orton has been stuck in a limbo ever since he lost the WWE Championship to Jinder Mahal and this would be a good opportunity to revitalize his career and become relevant.

#1 Undertaker

The Undertaker

The John Cena vs Undertaker clash at Wrestlemania is one that has been rumoured for a long time. Even though many of us believed his match against Roman At WrestleMania 33 was his swan song, reports erupted that the taker may be having one last match with John Cena at the upcoming WrestleMania.

It was expected that the announcement would be made on the RAW 25th-anniversary episode, but that did not happen. It was then expected that 'Taker will interfere in the Chamber match to cost Cena the victory, but that also did not happen; which has left fans wondering whether or not the match will take place at all.

It is still quite possible that John Cena issues a challenge to the Deadman at the upcoming episode of RAW and we will just have to wait and see if this iconic match will be a part of this year's WrestleMania or not.
