With SummerSlam 2024 in the books, all signs point to WWE continuing their hot streak of highly successful premium live events that have been appreciated widely as they head into 2025 and The Road to WrestleMania 41. A legendary WWE icon could make an epic return at The Grandest Stage of Them All, that being none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin.
In a recent interview, Austin mentioned that he hopes to be at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. His last appearance at WrestleMania was in 2022 when he came out of retirement to face Kevin Owens in his home state of Texas.
Here are four possible opponents for Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 41.

#4. Randy Orton
Stone Cold Steve Austin was in the final years of his professional wrestling career when Randy Orton made his debut in 2002. Fans never got the chance to see these two legends square off in the ring. Hence, a match between Austin and Orton would be a dream scenario for many fans, especially given their similar characteristics.
Both The Viper and The Texas Rattlesnake share an anti-authority persona, making them unpredictable and uncontrollable forces in the ring. Their rebellious attitudes have defined their careers. Each of them has a devastating finisher that has become iconic in WWE, with Orton using the RKO and the Stone Cold Stunner of Steve Austin.
The idea of these two legends clashing for the first time at WrestleMania would indeed be a fitting spectacle.
#3. CM Punk
CM Punk and Stone Cold Steve Austin sharing the same ring once seemed impossible a few years ago. But, as they say, 'Never say never' in WWE and now that Punk is actually back in WWE, this dream match could become a reality.
Punk has always said that Stone Cold Steve Austin was one of his dream opponents. When asked about this earlier this year, The Texas Rattlesnake didn’t rule out the possibility. The thought of these two rebellious going after each other on the mic, culminating in a match at The Show of Shows is a mouth-watering prospect for the WWE Universe.
#2. John Cena
Another dream matchup that has never taken place is John Cena vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin. These two are arguably the biggest names in professional wrestling history.
With 2025 set to be Cena's final year as an in-ring competitor, a match against Steve Austin could be a fitting way for Cena to make his last appearance on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
#1. Team up with current Undisputed WWE Champion to face The Rock and The Bloodline
There were several reports that Stone Cold Steve Austin had been approached ahead of WrestleMania 40 for a special appearance during the main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. Austin recently confirmed in an interview that he was indeed contacted but couldn't make it due to personal commitments.
However, Austin mentioned that he hopes to be at next year's WrestleMania and is ready to help out Cody Rhodes if needed. With rumors swirling that Rhodes could be involved in a program with The Rock, the prospect of Austin stepping in becomes even more intriguing.
If Rhodes finds himself facing The Rock, backed by The Bloodline, who better to have in his corner than The Rock's greatest rival, Stone Cold Steve Austin? This could even set the stage for a potential tag team match in Las Vegas.
