WWE made a huge announcement on the RAW episode after SummerSlam. The company is bringing back the King of the Ring tournament which will start from next week. It will continue on RAW and SmackDown Live, while the finals will take place at Clash of Champions.

King of the Ring has a rich history as several legendary wrestlers won the tournament. Since it is a dual-brand tournament, sixteen wrestlers are set to compete.

The last King of the Ring tournament was held in 2015 which was won by Wade Barrett. This year, eight Superstars from each brand will compete to win the crown. Some notable names from RAW will participate in King of the Ring. Drew McIntyre, Samoa Joe, Baron Corbin, Cedric Alexander, Sami Zayn, Ricochet, Cesaro and The Miz are the eight RAW Superstars to be part of the tournament.

Here we discuss four Superstars from RAW who deserve to win the King of the Ring tournament this year.

#4 Cesaro

The Swiss Cyborg
The Swiss Cyborg

The Swiss Cyborg is certainly a deserving candidate to win the King of the Ring tournament. Cesaro didn't have a match at SummerSlam but he had a stupendous feud with Aleister Black earlier. The King of the Ring tournament could open a new gate for Cesaro.

There is no doubt over the proficiency of Cesaro in the squared circle. He is known for his brutal strength and he has displayed some incredible athleticism in the ring. Cesaro has been part of WWE for eight years but he never reached his full potential as a singles competitor. Though he won Tag-Team Titles multiple times, the same cannot be said about his single career.

While Cesaro won the the Giant Battle Royal match in the past, he didn't gain anything, nevertheless, the King of the Ring tournament is different as it altered the career of a number of Superstars. The fans would love to see Cesaro in the main event picture and the tournament victory could give him the opportunity.

#3 Ricochet

Ricochet
Ricochet

Ricochet has become a pivotal member of the Red Brand in the past couple of months. The former United States Champion had an excellent rivalry with AJ Styles and the feud came to an end at SummerSlam. Since Ricochet is part of the King of the Ring tournament, a victory could give a new direction to his impressive main roster career.

Ricochet made his main roster debut earlier this year. He was a notable name in NXT where he won the NXT North American Championship. Known for his high-flying ability in the ring, Ricochet is an exceptional in-ring performer. Within a few months of his main roster debut, Ricochet managed to win his first main roster title at Stomping Grounds, however, he dropped the belt in the very next pay-per-view.

Judging by Ricochet's run in recent months, WWE has certainly big plans for the high-flyer. If he manages to become the King of the Ring, he could reach the top of the mountain and it will not be surprising if he targets the Universal Title.

#2 Samoa Joe

Will Joe win the crown?
Will Joe win the crown?

Samoa Joe is a prominent name from RAW who will be part of the King of the Ring tournament. The Samoan Destroyer was assumed to be the mysterious attacker of Roman Reigns but he was proved innocent, so, he is unlikely to be part of the storyline. When Joe will grace the ring next week, he will be aiming to win the tournament as it could become a turning point in his underwhelming main roster career.

Joe was a titanic name in NXT where he won the NXT Title twice. After his main roster debut, he never climbed to the top of the ladder. Earlier, Joe was in the Universal Title picture but he failed to grab the belt. He also chased the WWE Championship this year as he challenged Kofi Kingston at Extreme Rules.

Despite winning the US Title twice, Joe has been underused but he is a crowd puller. With the sublime mic skills, Joe is dexterous in the squared circle. If Joe manages to become the King of the Ring, it could be highly beneficial for him and he could get his hands on the most coveted prize of the Red Brand in future.

#1 Drew McIntyre

The Scottish Psychopath

Drew McIntyre is not a surprising entrant here and he is number one in this list. The Chosen One will a big threat for the other fifteen participants. Without a shadow of a doubt, he will be the ultimate favourite to win the crown. Though McIntyre didn't fight at SummerSlam this year, he is having a rivalry with Cedric Alexander who is also part of the tournament.

Last year, McIntyre made his main roster return and he has been on a roll. There is no doubt that the Scottish Psychopath has established himself as a top guy of the Red Brand. Although McIntyre is yet to win a singles title in his second tenure, he has conquered some big names. McIntyre is a ruthless heel who is known to decimate his opponents.

McIntyre has all the attributes to be a World Champion and the King of the Ring tournament could set the platform for him. While he is well-built and adept in the ring, he is equally good on the mic. Moreover, his popularity has skyrocketed after his return to the main roster. McIntyre has not been in the Universal Title picture but he could pursue it after becoming the King of the Ring.
