4 reasons Braun Strowman is the perfect replacement of Dean Ambrose in the Shield

WWE accidentally revealed the replacement of Dean Ambrose in the Shield while announcing matches for the WWE Live Events scheduled to take place in Europe later in May. As we all know, the Lunatic Fringe is leaving WWE in the month of April as he has decided against signing a new contract with Vince McMahon’s promotion.

Dean Ambrose debuted along with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as a part of the Shield. The Hounds of Justice changed the landscape of WWE with their performances. But, they had their final match as a team at Fastlane previous Sunday.

All the three members of the Shield are supposed to go on their own separate ways after this but it seems like Dean Ambrose will be the only one who will walk in another direction.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins might continue working as a team even after Dean Ambrose’s departure. They have been advertised to team up with honorary Shield member Braun Strowman and battle against the trio of Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley.

It looks like Braun Strowman will step up to join forces with Reigns and Rollins and here are 4 reasons he is the perfect replacement of Dean Ambrose.

#4 Strowman is and will be directionless

Strowman will most likely end up in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Strowman will most likely end up in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Braun Strowman has not been in a serious rivalry ever since his feud with Baron Corbin ended. The Monster was involved in meaningless segments in the past 2 RAW episodes. This shows that WWE has no WrestleMania plans for the Monster. All the main WrestleMania feuds have begun but Strowman is a part of none.

Thus, it would be remarkable if he garners momentum by joining the Shield next month. He can win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35 in what seems to be the best option for him right now and then can join Reigns and Rollins as an honorary Shield member.

It is always better to have a superstar in a feud rather than having him work segments with no future progress. Looking at the opportunities accessible with the WWE, Braun Strowman fits in this role.

#3 Past issues with the Shield's enemies

How can Braun Strowman forget the beatdown he received at the hands of McIntyre, Corbin and Lashley
How can Braun Strowman forget the beatdown he received at the hands of McIntyre, Corbin and Lashley

When Roman Reigns was dealing with leukemia, Braun Strowman was resisting like a lone warrior against Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin. Though he had the help of Finn Balor and Elias, Strowman seemed to clash with them all alone. All the three heels destroyed Braun multiple times. They even put him on the shelf with an injured arm.

Thus, Braun Strowman has a logical reason to join forces with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. The possibility that the Shield vs the Dogs of War 2.0 feud will continue even after WrestleMania 35 is high because of the matches that WWE has advertised for the pay-per-views after WrestleMania.

WWE can portray Strowman as an honorary Shield member in this storyline by having him join the faces as an equalizer.

#2 His overwhelming support for Roman Reigns proved to the WWE Universe that Strowman is just as a good friend of Reigns as Ambrose

During Roman Reigns’ conflict with leukemia, the one thing we learnt was that Braun Strowman is a close buddy of the Big Dog off-screen. The former Wyatt family member was engaged in a rivalry with Roman Reigns himself before he made his medical condition public. But, he put all the on-screen hatred aside and hugged Roman Reigns with true sportsman spirit.

Even at the arenas where Braun performed for WWE, the former RAW Tag Team Champion offered his encouragement to Roman Reigns with fan-made posters. WWE can take advantage of this situation and have Strowman join Roman on WWE TV.

Reigns can thank Strowman for his favor and the two, along with soon to be Universal Champion Seth Rollins, can run Monday Night RAW. This looks to be the ideal scenario for RAW if WWE wants to continue the dispute between the two stables.

#1 His character is as mad as Dean Ambrose

If you do not know Braun Strowman, ask Kevin Owens who he is

Dean Ambrose had one of the most insane characters in WWE. Nicknamed the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose had passed over all the limits to perform the moves that no sane man would do. The Creative team depicted him as the craziest guy in the Shield. With Ambrose disappearing, the Shield will the miss this psycho element.

By having Braun Strowman take Dean’s rank, WWE can keep the frenzy standard of the Shield same. Strowman is perhaps the most vicious and the most deranged Monster character I have ever seen. Just like Dean Ambrose, he crosses every limit possible just to satisfy the fans.

The only variation between Dean and Braun’s characters is that Dean used to take unbelievable beat downs from his enemies whereas Strowman crushes down his opponents unbelievably. Don’t believe me? Have a look at this...
