The Hounds of justice are back together, again!

What's the story?

WrestleMania 35 isn't even here and as revealed by PWInsider, WWE has already locally announced two big matches for the Extreme Rules PPV, which is scheduled to take place on July 14th later this year.

In case you didn't know...

The latest episode of Raw opened with Roman Reigns coming out to a chorus of cheers. He spoke about wanting to reclaim the Universal title and acknowledged Rollins being in his way. The Architect came out and Reigns wished the Royal Rumble winner the best of luck. Reigns then made a request for a Shield reunion but Rollins wasn't too high on the idea.

The fans in attendance loved Reigns' proposal as Dean Ambrose was called out to the ring. The Lunatic Fringe came out but was quickly ambushed by Elias near the ramp. Ambrose was already laid out by the time Reigns and Rollins rushed to save him. Ambrose would get up and walk back without saying a word as Raw continued,

Later on in the night, Ambrose took on the Drifter in a losing effort. Reigns and Rollins made another attempt at convincing Ambrose to get the band back together but the Lunatic Fringe was hesitant. The Corbin Alliance came out and predictably mocked the trio. A brawl ensued and much to the liking of the fans, Ambrose came back into the ring and took out the heels alongside Reigns and Rollins.

And just like that, the customary fist bump confirmed another Shield reunion.

The heart of the matter

WWE announced on this week's Raw that they would be returning to Philadelphia for the Extreme Rules PPV and locally advertised two big matches after the show went off the air.

Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns vs Baron Corbin were confirmed for the show that is set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center on July 14th, 2019.

It should be noted that the card is subject to change at WrestleMania 35 and the regular TV programming after the PPV will have major implications on the Extreme Rules card.

What's next?

Seth Rollins is slated to take on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 and is widely expected to become the new Universal Champion. Reigns' WrestleMania opponent is still up for debate as WWE hasn't committed to any angle as of yet. We should know more about The Big Dog's 'Mania match at Fastlane. It's also interesting to note that Ambrose has not been advertised for any of the shows after 'Mania, including Extreme Rules.

As mentioned earlier, the Extreme Rules card could change based on what happens at the Show of Shows but as of this writing, Reigns will take on Corbin while Rollins may have his first PPV title defense against McIntyre.
