No smoke and mirrors, WWE just need to utilize reality to make this match a hit.

John Cena and Undertaker's match at WrestleMania 34 might be one of the worst in these legends careers, and while that might seem like an exaggeration considering there were worse matches in their WWE runs, the magnitude of witnessing a once in a lifetime bout that ultimately left fans disappointed was lousy booking on WWE's part. The entire build to their feud was absolute rubbish, as WWE tried to build a dream match in a matter of a month and the fact that they expected wrestling aficionados to applaud it was unbelievable.

This feud needed time, a strong narrative and reason to even happen in the first place, and that is how WWE can rectify their mistakes about this feud, by giving it a reason to exist. Strip away the social media insults and repetitive promos that only stain The Undertaker's legendary career, and WWE just needs to give these two men one goal they are willing to the extra mile to achieve.

And while both these legends have won numerous titles, gimmick matches, and accolades, most stars would dream of having there is one thing they have not held in both their careers, the Universal Championship. And while this is somewhat linked to the previous point, it is the only logical reason WWE could have left for this feud even to exist. After all, Paul Heyman wants a box office match for Brock Lesnar.

Thus, Cena and Undertaker are the last two active roster members that hold that box office appeal. Moreover, as mentioned earlier, Cena does have an unfinished history with Lesnar and Undertaker never truly avenged his WrestleMania loss. WWE can have pride and ego on the line, but after the shockingly bad booking at Wrestlemania, this feud can culminate in historical fashion, but it needs a reason to do so.
