Damian Priest and The Judgment Day have enjoyed their run atop WWE RAW. The group has won numerous titles over the last two years, with Priest currently holding the World Heavyweight Title.

While championships make everything better, tension between members can still exist. Dominik Mysterio has consistently recruited new faces like Carlito, Andrade, and Santos Escobar, often without the other members' knowledge.

Priest hasn't been receptive to most of the recruitments and it could be causing tension amongst the group. The champ has been doing things by himself lately and the rest of The Judgment Day may turn on Damian Priest for one of the next four reasons.

#4. The group started with a betrayal

Damian Priest was the first member to join Edge in The Judgment Day. Rhea Ripley followed and Finn Balor eventually joined as the group excommunicated Edge from its ranks.

That beginning was nearly three years ago. In those years, Priest has won tag team gold, Money in the Bank, and the World Heavyweight Championship.

It wouldn't be a huge shock if someone finally snapped on The Archer of Infamy and the rest of the group followed suit. It would certainly keep The Judgment Day as the main focus of RAW.

#3. Factions always disband

Unless it's The New Day, wrestling factions never last forever. Groups like the Bullet Club and Four Horsemen were active despite members coming and going all the time.

Even the top groups from WWE's history like the Shield, Evolution, and DX had members turn on each other at various points. Groups are created as vehicles for particular performers. When the future for a performer is close, the group is usually blown apart.

The Bloodline has experienced a run similar to Four Horsemen with new members carrying on the mantle. However, turning on Priest would likely signal the end of The Judgment Day forever. Dominik and JD McDonagh could go their separate ways or stay with Finn Balor.

#2. Finn Balor could be jealous of Priest winning the title

While Damian Priest captured the World Heavyweight Title thanks to Money in the Bank contract, Finn Balor couldn't get the job done last year. Balor faced Seth Rollins a few times but came away empty-handed each time.

The duo eventually won tag team gold, but tension was definitely evident when The Prince challenged Rollins at SummerSlam 2023. Priest attempted a cash-in during one match that ultimately led to Balor losing.

Seeing his teammate do what he could not may wear on the first-ever Universal Champion. Since Priest acts as the leader, Balor could rally the troops against The Archer of Infamy and take control. The group wasn't supposed to have a leader but Priest has acted as one.

#1. He's routinely said he doesn't need The Judgment Day

Damian Priest hasn't been shy about saying that he doesn't need The Judgment Day to win big matches in WWE. He doubled down on that statement after he won the World Heavyweight Title and again when defending it.

When one group member routinely says he or she doesn't need the others to succeed, seeds are planted for a betrayal. Some stars see their success as the group's success, while others believe that any accolades are because of them.

Carlito has also been gaining favor with Balor, McDonagh, and Dominik and could be swayed to help lead a mutiny within The Judgment Day. Priest would then turn face and realize he may have overstepped his bounds and underestimated his group.
