#3. Unpredictability

The fans' reactions say everything.

As mentioned earlier, it was not a question of if Dean Ambrose would turn heel - but when he would turn heel. Fans have been speculating Ambrose would turn heel at Summerslam - but he did not. Similarly, he did not turn heel during Hell in a Cell or even during Shield's battle against the team of Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman and Dolph Ziggler. Even WWE teased Ambrose's heel turn during most of these encounters.

However, in the past episode of RAW, most fans were sure that Ambrose would not turn on his brother since Roman Reigns made an emotional exit from in-ring competition to fight Leukemia. When the team of Rollins and Ambrose actually defeated McIntyre and Ziggler, the WWE universe was ecstatic. But WWE threw a curveball at everyone and turned Dean heel.

If WWE had not pulled the trigger on Ambrose then, WWE could never turn him heel without anyone expecting it.
