Was this Vince Mcmahon's plan all along?

Survivor Series is one of the big four PPV events of the year. But merely a few days back, this years edition of this marquee event was on its way to being a damp squib. The match line-up of Survivor Series was marred by matches which failed to generate any kind of positive response from the WWE Universe.

Matches like Natalya vs. Alexa Bliss and Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar sparked an intense debate within the wrestling community. But the entire world witnessed firsthand that anything can happen in the WWE at any given point in time.

What a humungous difference a few days can make!

The new Survivor Series match card has been completely revamped by the WWE. The WWE Universe will now witness at least four larger than life matches at Survivor Series. From being ridiculed and trolled on by the IWC, Survivor Series is well on it's way to being the best PPV of the year. It makes one wonder, was this Vince Mcmahon's plan all along?

The new Survivor Series card is miles ahead than the original one. But let's hope that the PPV lives up to all the hype. Here are five reasons why this refurbished Survivor Series event is way better than what the WWE initially wanted it to be.

#1. Dream match outta nowhere

AJ and Brock might steal the show.

AJ Styles is without any shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. The Phenomenal One was expected to participate in the men's Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown match at Survivor Series.

But AJ Styles' hard work and dedication finally paid off. He delivered an earth-shattering 'Phenomenal Forearm' to Jinder Mahal and was crowned the WWE Champion for the second time in his illustrious career. AJ Styles is once again at the pinnacle of Smackdown and rightly so. AJ Styles historic victory also ensured that the WWE avoided a major disaster in the form of Jinder Mahal v/s Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.

Jinder Mahal was an experimental and transitional WWE Champion at best. WWE wanted to grab a bigger market share in the Indian market and 'The Modern Day Maharaja' was the perfect vehicle for them to do so. Jinder Mahal tried his level best to be the best champ that he possibly could be, but it just wasn't enough. He failed to deliver inside the squared circle every single time, and his match against Brock Lesnar would have been another gigantic disappointment.

The WWE fans will now get to witness a dream match come true. Brock Lesnar colliding with AJ Styles is a never before, never again match that nobody expected to see inside a WWE ring. And if booked right by the WWE, this match might find itself in contention for being the match of the year.

Let's hope that these two incredible performers steal the show at Survivor Series by delivering a stupendous 5-star match.

#2. The Queen vs. The Goddess

Charlotte adds some much needed 'Flair' to Survivor Series.

Alexa Bliss has proven herself over and over again. Bliss has not only made a name for herself for her superior mic skills but also for her ability to deliver decent to good matches. She is on her way to establishing herself as one of the greatest divas of all time and rightly so. Thus, The Goddess was always a lock for Survivor Series and her losing the title before the PPV was never even an option for the WWE.

WWE is gung-ho about Miss Bliss and other talented divas like Sasha Banks, Asuka, Nia Jax and Bayley, will simply have to wait for their turn.

But something about Natalya vs. Alexa never seemed right. It seemed like a match which acts as a filler between two mega bouts. Natalya was a deserving champion, and she should have the title a long time back. But after facing the wrath of their loyal fans over the internet, WWE knew it had to do something, and Natalya became an unfortunate casualty as a result. The moment Becky Lynch was named the captain of team blue, it was apparent that Charlotte will be the one facing the Raw Women's Champion at Survivor Series instead.

But Flair vs. Bliss sounds like a much better match on paper. The Queen Of The WWE is also a much better wrestler and in-ring performer than Natalya as well. Charlotte also adds a plethora of star power to the proceedings that Natalya simply cannot match. Thus, this new match between the two has certainly improved the match card of Survivor Series.

#3. Added star power

Star power does matter.

Not that the initial match card of Survivor Series lacked star power. But the new and improved Survivor Series is simply oozing with it. John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Triple H are late but welcome additions to the Survivor Series line-up.

John Cena is one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time. A 16-time world champion, John Cena is on his way to breaking Ric Flair's long-standing record of most world title wins. Love him or hate him, but one simply cannot ignore John Cena. Thus, his return to a WWE ring at Survivor Series certainly makes the event a lot more special.

The same can be said for Roman Reigns. The WWE Universe loves to hate the Big Dog. But Roman Reigns is an integral part of the WWE and the future face of the company.

And credit should be given where it is due.

Roman Reigns is a decent wrestler and his brutal feud with Braun Strowman this year was nothing short of epic. Thus, the addition of Roman Reigns most definitely adds an extra zing to the proceedings.

Survivor Series will also mark the return of Triple H to in-ring action on WWE television. Triple H is one of the biggest names to ever appear in WWE and is a bonafide future Hall of Famer. Therefore, needless to say, the sheer presence of Triple H should be welcomed with open arms on any PPV.

Also, what the 'Cerebral Assassin' will do at Survivor Series will be interesting to see. He might turn on his teammate Kurt Angle to commence the storyline for their rumoured match at Wrestlemania. Or will Triple H start a rivalry with his brother in law, Shane Mcmahon? Only time will tell.

Imagine if WWE had found a way to include Kevin Owens, Kane, Sami Zayn and Bray Wyatt in the proceedings. Survivor Series would have been a PPV of epic proportions then. But in the meantime, Triple H, John Cena, and Roman Reigns will do.

#4. Finally, a Shield reunion

Ente
Fans have waited a long time for this.

When the first few matches of Survivor Series were announced, the team of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were pencilled in to face 'The Usos'. The match between these two goliath tag teams instantly became the talk of the town.

Usos, colliding with two-thirds of Shield, would have easily stolen the show. It would have been the match of the night. But WWE had other plans. 'The New Day' appeared on Raw, and 'The Bar' utilized the distraction to walk away with the tag team gold.

And obviously, nobody is complaining. Because instead of one epic match, fans will now get the golden opportunity to witness two monumental matches. WWE couldn't have found two better and worthy replacements for 'The Shield' then Sheamus and Cesaro. 'The Usos' locking horns against 'The Bar' should be just as epic.

But 'The Big Dog' Roman Reigns is back with a bang. He will join forces with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to face 'The New Day' at Survivor Series. The WWE Universe has waited a long long time for a Shield reunion. And they will finally get one at Survivor Series. Also, 'The Shield' and 'The New Day are two of the greatest factions to grace the WWE in the past few years. They have never faced each other before and will most certainly tear the roof down at Survivor Series.

Reuniting 'The Hounds of Justice' could be a desperate attempt by WWE to make fans cheer for Roman Reigns. But who cares? Let's sit back and get sports entertained.
