2002: Paul Heyman destroys his own client

Heyman proved to be the difference make
Heyman proved to be the difference maker.

On the night after WrestleMania X8, a new Beast emerged in the WWF, as Brock Lesnar debuted, destroying Spike Dudley.

Flanked by his advocate Paul Heyman, Lesnar went on a warpath, quickly winning the 2002 King of the Ring, before dethroning The Rock at Summerslam to become Undisputed WWE Champion.

By November though, things had changed, as the fans had gotten behind the Beast, who was shockingly the smaller man, feuding with the Big Show.

At Survivor Series, the two faced off, with Brock somehow being able to plant the Giant with a devastating F5.

But it was Heyman who made the difference, pulling the referee from a sure-fire three count, allowing the Big Show to recover hit the Champion with a chair, and win the title.

It was a truly shocking moment, that was made even bigger by being Lesnar's first ever loss in the WWE.
