#2 Chad Gable defeats Elias
Without a shadow of a doubt, Chad Gable's performance in the King of the Ring tournament has been outstanding thus far. Since Gable is in the semi-finals, he will be a dark horse to reach the final, which will take place at Clash of Champions. Elias, who beat Ali last week, will take on Gable on SmackDown Live.
Gable overcame Shelton Benjamin in the very first round of the King of the Ring tournament. While Shelton wasn't a big obstacle for Gable, Andrade was a notable opponent in the second round. A roll-up pin helped Gable to defeat Andrade. Elias, on the other hand, had an assist from Shane McMahon in the first round, but the Drifter was highly impressive against Ali.
The King of the Ring tournament has had some surprises. After his victory over former NXT Champion Andrade, Gable should be more confident before heading to SmackDown Live this week. Elias and Gable are exceptional performers in the squared circle, and we could expect a close encounter.
#1 Charlotte Flair avenges the previous beatdown
Charlotte Flair had an excruciating night on SmackDown Live last week when she was assaulted by both Sasha Banks and Bayley. The recent heel turn of the current SmackDown Women's Champion has rejuvenated the rivalry. While the two women will cross paths on RAW in a women's tag team match, they are also expected to confront each other on SmackDown Live, prior to their match at Clash of Champions.
Considering Sasha Banks has her own feud with Becky Lynch, she is unlikely to accompany Bayley this week. Bayley, who also put her hands on Charlotte before accepting the title match challenge, has been dominant in this rivalry. However, The Queen is one of the biggest names of the women's division and she might return the favor this week.
If Bayley also dominates Charlotte this week, the latter will look vulnerable before heading to Clash of Champions. It will not be surprising to see Charlotte with a steel chair and she could take revenge for the assault from last week.
