4 Things WWE made clear at Clash of Champions 2019

It was a solid show

Clash of Champions 2019 was a great show, with a number of exciting matches taking place all through the PPV. All the ten titles were defended at Spectrum Center, but only two belts changed hands. The show had some surprising moments that could alter the course of the storylines in the coming weeks.

The SmackDown Tag Team Titles changed hands, as The Revival defeated The New Day. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode overcame Brown Strowman and Seth Rollins, winning the RAW Tag Team Titles.

The highly anticipated RAW Women's Championship match was certainly the match of the night, as Becky Lynch managed to retain the title after attacking Sasha Banks. AJ Styles delivered a dominant performance, while Erick Rowan picked up a stunning victory over Roman Reigns with the help of Luke Harper.

Here are four things WWE made clear at Clash of Champions.

#4 Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks will have a long feud

The first chapter of the rivalry between Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch started at Clash of Champions, and the match ended in Disqualification. Given both women had notable momentum before heading to Spectrum Center, the result was not unexpected. Although The Man lost the bout, she retained the RAW Women's Championship.

Without a doubt, the two Horsewomen stole the show at Clash of Champions. There were some intense moments in the match when it looked like the match could go either way. Lynch unintentionally hit the official with a steel chair and the match ended in disqualification. However, the two women had a gigantic brawl following the match.

One could expect a rematch at Hell in a Cell, and this will be a lengthy feud. We saw a long rivalry between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair last year, which helped Lynch in elevating her character. It will be interesting to see if The Man and The Boss face each other inside a steel cage at Hell in a Cell.

#3 Braun Strowman will fight for the US Title

The feud between Braun Strowman and AJ Styles, which began a few weeks ago, is yet to finish. After winning the RAW Tag Team Titles, Strowman also entered the Universal Title picture and has not been seen in the United States Title picture. The Monster among Men had a disappointing night at Clash of Champions, where he lost the twin red belts with Seth Rollins, and failed to win the Universal Title.

Interestingly, the United States Championship match was in the kick-off show, and the match certainly didn't meet the expectations of the fans. Given the proficiency of AJ Styles and Cedric Alexander, the match should have lasted longer. Despite a short match, we saw several jaw-dropping manoeuvres from the two top-tier performers of the company. The US Championship match didn't have a long build-up, and the feud is unlikely to continue.

Considering Strowman will not be in line for a rematch against Rollins, the former could set his sights on the US Championship. Although Strowman is a top guy of the Red Brand, he is yet to win a singles title. Styles could face a huge challenge if The Monster decides to face The Phenomenal One at Hell in a Cell.

#2 Daniel Bryan will turn babyface

Erick Rowan made an emphatic statement at Clash of Champions, where he defeated the former Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. It was arguably one of the best matches of the night, but a major surprise came at the end of the match when Luke Harper returned and decimated the Big Dog.

The Bludgeon Brothers reunited at Clash of Champions. However, Daniel Bryan didn't show up, despite playing a pivotal role in this storyline. The return of Luke Harper has certainly raised many questions, and we could see a major twist in this feud.

Rowan was already exposed as the attacker in the backstage area, but Harper could be another attacker in the storyline. If Harper turns out to be the other attacker, Daniel Bryan could be innocent, and it could lead to a face turn. After turning babyface, Reigns and Bryan could team up against The Bludgeon Brothers at Hell in a Cell.

#1 The Fiend will be the new Universal Champion at Hell in a Cell

The Universal Championship match is all but set for Hell in a Cell, which is the next pay-per-view. After defeating Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins will face his toughest challenger to date, The Fiend. Defeating Brock Lesnar and Strowman were huge accomplishments, but The Fiend is in prime focus.

Rollins had to deliver four vicious Stomps and a Pedigree to defeat Braun Strowman and the champion's celebration was cut short, as The Fiend attacked Rollins. The Fiend closed the show after assaulting Rollins with a Sister Abigail and a Mandible Claw.

The Fiend was invincible in his debut match at SummerSlam, where he dismantled Finn Balor. Given the current momentum of the new Bray Wyatt, he will be the favourite to win the most coveted prize of the Red Brand at Hell in a Cell.
