#3. Hope is true: The reason why WWE gave Titus O'Neil the Warrior Award over Shad Gaspard

The late, great Shad Gaspard.
The late, great Shad Gaspard.

Titus O'Neil had a busy weekend with WWE at WrestleMania 37. Not only was he honored with The Warrior Award this year, but he co-hosted WrestleMania 37 alongside Hulk Hogan.

There doesn't seem to be any issue with the fact that Titus O'Neil got the award. He has constantly given back to his community and is known for his charitable acts on a consistent basis. However, many felt that the late, great Shad Gaspard should have won the award.

Former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard tragically drowned last year, but not before making sure his son was saved in the process. The whole wrestling community got together in tribute to the real-life hero.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful revealed why WWE gave the award to Titus O'Neil this year:

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, plans to induct [Titus] O'Neil were in place for last year's WrestleMania, which was well before Shad Gaspard's untimely passing. O'Neil's connection with the Tampa Bay area was a key factor in him receiving the Warrior Award this year.

We hope this is true because it makes a lot of sense for Titus O'Neil to receive the award.
