#3 “I’m Sorry. I love you.”

Ric Flair had one of the greatest careers in pro-wrestling history, winning 16 World Championships (as per WWE). The 'Dirtiest player in the Game', as popularly called by wrestling fans, had headlined many wrestling events, sold-out buildings, and put on wrestling’s greatest classics. But, at WrestleMania 24, he had to fight Shawn Michaels to save his career.
The match was everything it needed to be: a storytelling masterpiece. From Michaels’ slap to Flair’s taunts; from the former’s reluctance to hit the Sweet Chin Music to the latter’s desire to walk out proudly, fighting like a man, the entire match hit the right notes. In the closing moments of the match, Shawn Michaels, with emotions visible on his face, said “I’m Sorry. I love you.” Then, he hit Flair with a third, and final, 'Sweet Chin Music' to put curtains on a great career.
WWE has no plans for these former AEW wrestlers? Here's why!
Michael’s words and everything that happened there in the next few minutes were surreal, yet heartbreaking. Flair received a standing ovation from the crowd, as he embraced his family at ringside, leaving WWE fans with a bittersweet WrestleMania moment. Michaels' words have since truly become the greatest six-word-story told in a wrestling ring.
