Roman Reigns is not the most liked superstar but he certainly produces memorable moments.
Roman Reigns is not the most liked superstar but he certainly produces memorable moments.

WWE produced a great year of professional wrestling and this naturally led to some delightfully good segments throughout the year. Such segments are the reason behind the success or failure of a match, as it provides the rivalry with a big talking point. Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega's current feud is the perfect example of it!

Braun Strowman's rise to the top in 2017 has been a wonderful sight for the WWE Universe while Roman Reigns' ascend to the top of the mountain continued this year. Roman Reigns is a massively hated personality but this hasn't prevented him from becoming the most talked about superstar in WWE.

This list contains five of the best segments in WWE, which created the right kind of noises and were perfect sports entertainment.

#5: This is my yard now

His third straight Wrestlemania main-event certainly didn't help the matters
His third straight Wrestlemania main-event certainly didn't help the matters

Five words. Exactly five words were spoken in this segment which went over ten minutes. If you are a wrestling fan, you obviously realise what this segment is. The RAW after Mania crowd is usually the most hardcore wrestling audience but this one took it to another level.

Roman Reigns defeated and presumably retired The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33. He opened the RAW after Mania show the very next night and was greeted with enormous backlash. Chants such as "Go Away", "A**hole", F**k you Roman", etc. were thrown at him, while he stood there taking it all in.

Reigns is one of the finest athletes in WWE today, but his hilariously incompetent booking has led to such reactions over the years. However, this mass protest of sorts was unprecedented and has since achieved legendary status!

#4: The Destroyer does what he does the best

What a year this guy has had!
What a year this guy has had!

The Royal Rumble was a great show in many aspects, but what it failed to provide was a single surprise entrant, apart from Tye Dillinger at 10, which was a one-off appearance. Fans waiting for Balor, Joe and Nakamura had to settle for Roman Reigns at number 30, which led to bullsh*t chants.

Seth Rollins had to miss the Rumble due to Stephanie McMahon's problems with the Kingslayer, which led to Rollins calling out Triple H every week. He even invaded NXT Takeover event in search of the WWE COO. Triple H finally came to RAW the night after Rumble to answer Rollins, but he didn't come alone.

Samoa Joe's sneak attack on Rollins and further destruction, which led to Rollins suffering a legitimate injury; which became a huge talking point. It proved WWE's willingness to make Joe a legit top superstar in WWE, and considering the year he had, they were correct.

#3: M.U.R.D.E.R

OMG Moment in Real Life!
OMG Moment in Real Life!

Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns had the feud of the year in WWE. They started their rivalry back in January and continued it indirectly until October. Strowman turned face at TLC and shifted his focus to Kane.

This great rivalry featured some excellent matches, with Strowman winning three of them, thus becoming the only superstar to boast of a positive head-to-head record against the Big Dog. However, their rivalry reached its peak back in April, when a backstage brawl between both of these superstars got out of hand.

Roman Reigns was crushed by Strowman and put into an ambulance. However, The Monster Among Men monstrously tipped the ambulance with Reigns inside. This became a major talking point and made their feud even more interesting.

#2: How To Cut A Promo: A Comprehensive Guide by John Cena

You can never be me son
You can never be me son

John Cena moved to RAW after Summerslam, and went after the superstar widely predicted to be his successor, Roman Reigns. In what is considered one of the best wrestling promos ever, John Cena verbally humiliated Roman Reigns, highlighting each and every point the WWE Universe has spoken about Reigns.

Reigns fumbled during his promo, which led to relentless humiliation by Cena. Reigns' poor promo skills coupled with his bland personality have failed to win the support of fans and Cena capitalized on it.

Cena is in another league in WWE and this was a perfect demonstration of the fact. He even acknowledged breaking the fourth wall, which proved the amount of creative freedom he has in WWE. This was the best promo of 2017 and one of the best ever in wrestling history.

#1: Festival of Friendship

When legends cried
When legends cried

The Jeri-KO bromance was one of the highlights of 2016 WWE programming. Their run was highly entertaining which featured some of the funniest segments in WWE. The two heels were tearing it up together but a breakup was inevitable.

Jericho challenged Goldberg on Owens' behalf, which caused Owens to become infuriated. The following week, a "Festival of Friendship" was organized, which featured one of the destructive super-heel turns( heel attacking another heel) in WWE history. Owens destroyed Jericho viciously, which left the whole wrestling world in shock.

A perfectly executed segment, this featured Jericho and Owens at their best. Jericho's emotions were on point in this promo.
