He even invaded NXT Takeover event in search of the WWE COO. Triple H finally came to RAW the night after Rumble to answer Rollins, but he didn't come alone.
Samoa Joe's sneak attack on Rollins and further destruction, which led to Rollins suffering a legitimate injury; which became a huge talking point. It proved WWE's willingness to make Joe a legit top superstar in WWE, and considering the year he had, they were correct.
