Following his win over Triple H at WrestleMania 33, Seth Rollins had a hard time finding his footing as a babyface on the red brand. After briefly feuding with Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins found himself in the crosshairs of his former Shield brethren, Dean Ambrose.

It all began on the July 10, 2017, episode of Raw, where Seth Rollins would come to the aid of Dean Ambrose as the latter was under attack by The Miztourage ( The Miz, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel).

Following this, Rollins would tease a potential reunion between the two, but Ambrose would decline the offer citing that he had trust issues from Rollins' betrayal three years ago. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose came to blows on the August 14, 2017 episode of RAW. Sensing an opportunity, The Bar, who had been feuding with the duo, came out to attack Ambrose and Rollins.

After weeks and weeks of subtle teases, Ambrose and Rollins would finally join forces to fend off The Bar's attack. After a few minutes of intense drama, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose would bump their fists, indicating that they were back together as a team.

The Ambrose-Rollins reunion was the best thing on RAW during that time. The storyline culminated with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose defeating The Bar to capture the RAW Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam 2017.
