In 2019, George Mizanin and Vince McMahon had a pleasant conversation backstage after their sons competed against each other at WrestleMania 35.
Speaking on the Jobbing Out podcast, Mizanin said Vince McMahon praised the role he played in Shane McMahon’s win over The Miz.
WrestleMania 35 featured crowd-pleasing wins for Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston, and Seth Rollins, but the WWE Chairman apparently enjoyed Mizanin’s performance more than anything.
“Vince McMahon came up to me and said it was his favorite part of the whole of WrestleMania, which is one of the greatest compliments I have ever gotten,” Mizanin said.

One of the most memorable moments from the match came when Shane McMahon tried to put The Miz through the announce desk. As Shane looked set to land an elbow drop, George Mizanin stood in front of the table to prevent the move from happening.
Moments later, Mizanin entered the ring and clenched his fists in a fighting stance, creating a meme-worthy moment in the process. Shane then caught The Miz’s father with a knee strike, breaking one of his ribs, before repeatedly kicking him in the corner of the ring.

If given the keys to WWE’s creative department, he would bring back The Phenom for a farewell bout against AJ Styles in a stadium full of fans. Not only that, but he would love to have the multi-time world champion’s greatest rivals seated at ringside for the spectacle.
When not watching and covering sports, Hart enjoys long-distance running, playing video games, and listening to audiobooks and podcasts.
