Will Drew McIntyre's popularity last for long?

As much as we would like to deny it, the truth is that WWE hasn't been able to sustain a top babyface's popularity for long. While Roman Reigns' situation was entirely different, we can look at the case of Seth Rollins last year. Rollins had his coronation by beating Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and even beat him clean a few months later.

However, by the end of September, his popularity as a babyface had started dwindling after three years. Partly due to a series of tweets and fans being tired of babyface Seth Rollins, they turned on him and it would plant the seeds for his eventual heel turn in December.

Even when Kofi Kingston had his dream moment and won the WWE Championship, there was a lot of criticism after a few months that he was "better off chasing the title than holding it". This was something fans used to say about Dean Ambrose as well.

There's a high possibility of McIntyre's popularity dying down and an eventual need for a heel turn. Hopefully, he'll be able to sustain his popularity as a babyface.
