#1: Jon Moxley defeated Brian Cage when Taz threw in the towel
It's undeniable that both Brian Cage and Jon Moxley looked equally matched heading into AEW Fight for the Fallen.
Essentially, AEW booked themselves into a corner here, and one way to overcome that obstacle was for Taz to intervene without Cage having tapped out.

The match itself was a grueling, back-and-forth contest, just as AEW fans had expected. The ending may have been controversial, but it was necessary to keep Cage's momentum intact as the FTW Champion.
After the match, Darby Allin returned and got payback against Brian Cage. Allin has ascended to a level where he can legitimately become one of the biggest superstars in AEW, and a feud with Cage seems to be the way to go.
Also, I liked how Taz had to hold his client back even though the FTW Champion just went through an intense match. Meanwhile, Moxley's next feud may involve MJF as the primary antagonist.
MJF has a great record in AEW's rankings, and it's been a while since he entered main event competition in recent memory.
