5 Biggest unanswered questions in WWE right now

What is WWE doing?
What is WWE doing?

Questions deserve answers. Unfortunately for the WWE Universe, the company doesn't like to divulge their secrets, which has often left fans in the dark. Of course, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially since it keeps fans on their toes throughout the week, but some things could probably use some clearing up.

For example, what is WWE's longterm plan with The Fiend? Why was Finn Balor suddenly moved to NXT without rhyme or reason? While the company has made several bizarre decisions over the past couple of months, there seems to be a method behind the madness and fans can rest assured that things are in good hands.

With that in mind and many questions to be answered, here are the five biggest unanswered questions in WWE right now! As always, please let us know your thoughts in the comments below and tell us what questions you would like answered in the weeks ahead.

#5 Could CM Punk return?

Is CM Punk heading back to WWE?
Is CM Punk heading back to WWE?

"CM Punk! CM Punk!"

While The WWE Universe continues to chant this in unison whenever they are dissatisfied with the in-ring action, it seems to ultimately be a fruitless endeavor. In fact, Punk has stayed away from pro wrestling for five years now and shows no sign of wanting to step back inside the squared circle - at least not for WWE.

Interestingly enough, however, it was reported that he auditioned for the role of on-air commentator at Fox Sports and it's reportedly a done deal. Of course, this development doesn't mean he will step back into the ring, but it's safe to assume that he is starting to get that itch back.

Whether that itch results in him finally stepping foot back in the squared circle remains to be seen, but at least he is one step closer to doing so!

#4 Why is Finn Balor on NXT?

Why would Finn Balor end up back in NXT?
Why would Finn Balor end up back in NXT?

Finn Balor made his triumphant return to NXT this week and while the decision was met with a chorus of cheers, others were left wondering why 'The Demon King' would be moved down to the Gold Brand? The problem with that thinking, however, is that NXT is no longer the developmental brand they used to be and are now on mainstream television.

Not only does that instantaneously put NXT on the same level of SmackDown and RAW, but it also creates a dynamic where the Gold Brand becomes must-see TV. Fortunately for WWE, bringing Balor back to his old stomping grounds was a great way to win fans over.

The move gives Balor a chance to relive his glory days in NXT and brings some very real star power to the brand as well. Beyond all that, the potential feud with Adam Cole for The NXT Championship and the other possible dream matches alone are surely enough to get fans to keep tuning in.

That's why the move is pure genius! It takes a guy that was white-hot in NXT, and brings him back in a way that oozes nostalgia.

#3 Why is Lana with Bobby Lashley?

Why would Lana do this to Rusev?
Why would Lana do this to Rusev?

Bobby Lashley and Lana locked lips during the main event of Monday Night RAW last week and the new relationship has a lot of fans wondering why? While the obvious answer is for entertainment value and to jump start a love triangle storyline, the decision seems bizarre given the fact that Lana and Rusev are married in real life

That's what makes this storyline so polarizing. It's the fact that the WWE Universe knows that Rusev and Lana are married, but are watching 'The Ravishing Russian' kiss another man while Rusev looks on in bewilderment. If nothing else, it is a unique way to bend reality and could lead to something special, if tackled correctly

Whether WWE is actually able to achieve that remains to be seen and will depend on how long creative can keep this whole charade going, but it's a very promising sign that the company is trying something like this. It even makes one wonder what is going to happen next?

In the end, WWE did this to bend reality in a way that they knew would have people talking and they achieved that in spades!

#2 What effect will the draft have on WWE?

What surprises will WWE have for fans in the draft?
What surprises will WWE have for fans in the draft?

While its fairly obvious that the WWE draft is going to change the landscape of the company for years to come, especially with Fox Sports and USA Network now competing against one another, one has to wonder what the company has planned. Beyond that, what effect will WWE's recent controversies have on the draft?

For example, The Fiend and Seth Rollins battled it out in a polarizing Hell in a Cell match earlier in the month, which left many fans unhappy with the final decision. With that stated, and the company needing to breath new life into both characters, what are the chances that we see either one of them switch brands?

Another big controversy was Finn Balor's move to NXT, which has to make some wonder if other RAW and SmackDown Superstars will be eligible to make a similar move to the Gold Brand. If so, it will be interesting to see what talent WWE sends to NXT and what kind of effect that will have on the brand's landscape.

In the end, there are many unanswered questions when it comes to the draft and that's going to make the upcoming two-night event all the more exciting to watch. In fact, this could end up being one of WWE's most bizarre drafts in years and that's a good thing for a company that needs to get back on track.

#1 Will The Fiend work long term?

Can WWE make The Fiend work longterm?
Can WWE make The Fiend work longterm?

Believe it or not, this has been a huge topic of debate among the WWE Universe and while some are rooting for The Fiend to be the next Undertaker, others are wondering if the company can manage to protect him over the long term. How long can WWE continue to book The Fiend strongly?

Of course, some fans are going to argue that it's only a matter of time before the company trips up on what has to be their best creation in years, but that doesn't seem possible with the way that they are going about it. WWE knows they have something special here and are going out of their way to protect it.

Why else would WWE only have Wyatt compete on special occasions? Why else would his Firefly Funhouse show become a weekly segment filled with new symbolism to interpret? This proves that WWE is going above and beyond with this character and have thought out how they want to execute this.

In the end, however, WWE is too smart to keep this gimmick stagnant and will add to it as time goes on. Whether that happens to be finding new ways to make him terrifying, hiding symbolism in his Firefly Funhouse segments, or even The Fiend committing more heinous acts, the future belongs to Bray Wyatt.
