The year 2020 saw The Undertaker show a completely different side of himself to the WWE Universe as he broke kayfabe completely. After defeating AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 in a Boneyard match, The Undertaker appeared in a special WWE Network docuseries, giving the fans a peek of the man behind the gimmick - Mark Calaway. In the final episode of the docuseries, The Undertaker announced his retirement.

Ahead of Survivor Series 2020, which was also the 30th anniversary of The Phenom in WWE, it was announced that The Undertaker will have his final farewell at the pay-per-view. However, speculations started that Bray Wyatt or The Fiend could interrupt the segment, setting up a dream clash between him and The Undertaker down the line.

While it sounded like a promising idea, nothing as such took place during the final farewell of The Undertaker at WWE Survivor Series 2020. Legends appeared, The Phenom made his grand entrance, and in just a few words, bid farewell to the WWE Universe without The Fiend or anyone else attacking him. From the looks of it, The Undertaker has actually retired from WWE this time, but then as the saying goes - 'Never say Never'.
