5 booking decisions which could take Survivor Series 2018 by storm

Always delivers the best
Always delivers the best

It is always super fun to watch WWE Survivor Series. What makes Survivor Series one of the most exciting shows in WWE is the core idea of brand war. It is the one time of the year where the best of RAW take on the best of SmackDown Live, and WWE never disappoints with their booking at the event.

The updated match card for this year's Survivor Series has the classic men's Survivor Series elimination match, where team RAW captained by Baron Corbin will take on SmackDown's team, which will be led by The Miz.

It will also see the Women's Survivor Series 5 on 5 elimination match, and there is also a Survivor Series elimination match involving the tag teams of both brands.

Apart from the classic tag matches, the champions of both brands take on each other every year. The Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, goes one-on-one against the newly crowned WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan, and the Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins faces the United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

Also, the most awaited match of the pay-per-view, The RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey takes on the SmackDown Live's Charlotte Flair. We will see The Bar take on the Authors of Pain as well.

The show is completely stacked, and here are 5 booking decisions which could take Survivor Series by storm, and make it one of the best shows of the year.

#1 Drew McIntyre is the sole survivor

Drew McIntyre has been on a roll for the past few months. The Scottish Terminator established himself as the top heel in the industry when he attacked Braun Strowman.

He was also one of the first picks for the team along with his buddy Dolph Ziggler, and recently in an act of dominance, Drew squashed the legendary Hall of Famer - Kurt Angle. These are clear indications that the WWE are high on Drew McIntyre, and have big plans for him in the coming months.

Being the sole survivor of the Men's Survivor Series elimination match could be the start of a monstrous push. A good showing here could go a long way in his career.

#2 AJ Styles costing SmackDown Live

Best thing that has happened to Daniel since his return to WWE
Best thing that has happened to Daniel since his return to WWE

Last year AJ Styles put on a valiant effort, but eventually that was in vain as Brock Lesnar conquered him.

AJ was once again set to face The Beast this year thanks to his year-long run as the WWE Champion, but things went sideways for the former WWE Champion as Daniel Bryan using underhand tactics defeated AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, and turned heel in the process.

Currently, AJ Styles does not feature in the match card for Survivor Series, but it does not mean that he won't be making an appearance at the show. AJ will be looking for retribution against Daniel Bryan, and costing Daniel Bryan and SmackDown Live a match against Brock could be the way to go.

This angle could give WWE a plethora of booking options moving ahead, such as Shane McMahon and Daniel aligning to form an Authority like stable, and even The Miz turning babyface, thus adding a new dimension to their feud.

This booking decision gives Daniel Bryan the protection, and a win to Brock Lesnar.

#3 Nakamura bringing back his strong style to Survivor Series

Match of the year candidate?

Same as AJ Styles and the WWE Championship, Nakamura and the United States Championship has been on the receiving end of some bad booking. The United States title has lost its prestige, as it has been defended only on rare occasions by the champion, Nakamura. This is majorly due to the lack of faces on SmackDown Live.

Monday Night Rollins is currently involved in what could potentially be the feud of the year against his former Shield brother, Dean Ambrose. A WrestleMania match is written all over this feud.

Dean Ambrose is not booked in any of the matches at Survivor Series, and he could make an appearance at the event to cost Seth this match.

Rollins and Nakamura are two wrestlers who could put on a 5-star match at will, if given the time. If they are given a solid 20 minutes, they could truly burn the house down.

#4 Becky stands tall despite not competing in the match

Hottest act in WWE

The hottest act in WWE, Becky Lynch, was supposed to face 'The Baddest Woman On The Planet' Ronda Rousey in a champion vs champion match, but Becky Lynch was pulled out of the match due to the injury she suffered at the hands of Nia Jax.

Becky later handpicked her former best friend, Charlotte Flair, to take on Ronda at Survivor Series. Charlotte and Ronda are two of the most protected women in all of WWE, and this is a match rumored to headline WrestleMania 35. WWE would like to avoid a clean finish this time around.

A chaotic end to this bout is possible in all likelihood, and 'The Man' Becky Lynch could be the woman standing when the smoke clears. WWE could also use this match to tease a possible Four Horsewomen of MMA versus the Four Horsewomen of WWE, which is bound to happen in the future.

#5 RAW is not ready for Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow
The Empress of Tomorrow

'The Empress of Tomorrow' Asuka is one of those many wrestlers in WWE who had huge success in NXT, but failed to replicate the same on the main roster.

Asuka was the sole survivor of the Women's Survivor Series match while she was part of the RAW roster, and she went on to win the first Women's Royal Rumble, and had an undefeated streak.

While it looked like Asuka's career was skyrocketing, she challenged the former SmackDown Live Champion, Charlotte Flair, at WrestleMania 34, and she lost. This loss was not only the end of Asuka's undefeated streak, but it ended the aura surrounding her.

She was drafted to SmackDown Live, but SmackDown Live was not ready for Asuka, and she was lost in the shuffle. A win and a strong showing here could be the road to redemption for her career.

If booked right, The Empress of Tomorrow could be the one to dethrone 'The Man'.
