The 'Scream' from the fans was not like his movie

David Arquette was WCW Champion. Yes, Dewey from the Scream movie series held what Eddie Guerrero, Scott Hall, Dean Malenko, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mike Awesome and others couldn't.

In what is arguably the worst decision ever made regarding Championships, David pinned Eric Bischoff in a tag team match where the winning pinfall decided the Champion. He lost it 3 weeks later to Jeff Jarrett after turning on Diamond Dallas Page. The move was done just to promote the WCW film David starred in, Read To Rumble. I still, however, believe David deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, firstly because regardless of how anyone feels, he was still a World Heavyweight Champion in wrestling. Also, however, Arquette was totally against becoming the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, believing that fans like himself would detest a non-wrestler winning the title and had to be pleaded with by Vince Russo and an unwilling DDP to do so.

Also in a very generous move, all the money he made during his WCW tenure was donated to the families of Owen Hart (who died in a freak accident), Brian Pillman (who died from an undiagnosed heart condition), and Darren Drozdov (who became a quadriplegic after an in-ring accident).

David also appeared as the final RAW guest host in December 2010, where he, like all non-athletic celebrities, wrestled a match the way they should, he got his ass kicked. David was beaten up by Randy Orton and powerbombed through a table by him, so major props to David for losing a wrestling match they way all celebrities logically would.
